Announcing Neverwinter: Storm King's Thunder

Giants will return to the Sword Coast when Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder strikes on to PC in August 2016! In Neverwinter’s tenth expansion, adventurers will experience an uprising of giants, which follows the upcoming tabletop expansion from Wizards of the Coast.

Adventurers will travel north to Bryn Shander - capital of Icewind Dale - to investigate the sudden presence of frost giants in the region. No visit to Icewind Dale would be complete without the help of Catti-brie and Wulfgar - characters from R.A. Salvatore’s novels - who will aid adventurers in their quest to stop the invading giants.

High-level adventurers will also experience a new campaign, which will take them across three new adventure zones and story content for Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder. In addition, our newest expansion will introduce a new tier of Dungeon for adventurers seeking a challenge.

We’ll reveal more detailed information in the future, so stay tuned. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation®4 at a later date.

Will you brave the storm?

A very fun and amusing game to pass your time, if you don't mind all the attempts to siphon the money our of your wallet. Completely playable without breaking out a single cent, after that the endgame is quite lackluster.

Endgame costs nothing to get into, expansions come free.

From there, you either spend time grinding refinement points to make your gear better, or pay to increase your gains.

If you consider that pay to win, then you may not like the game, but know that everything in the cash shop CAN eventually be earned with time spent in game. I look at it that the developers have to make money some how, or the game shuts down. You can't have everythign free in life, children.

PvP and cuttign edge endgame PvEmay require you to spend a little money if you can't wait, but casual players can get by pretty easily. Worth a look if you want a action combat based MMO.

What GM does in this game?
Hi, I have a question:
Where the fu*k is GM in this game???
EVERY TIME when I enter in PvP I found 5+ bots... What GM do in this case? - NOTHING.

In the other hand, GAME CRASH from hour to hour... (Not just my problem, I play with 8 friends, and is same for all of us)
I played NeverWinter since Module 6 and NOTHING CHANGE (Bugs and hackers)

To be a GM is YOUR choice, NOT an obligation... So, DO SOMETHING FOR THIS FU*KING GAME...

Bots? No problem... ban 10 bots/day (1 hour of play, not more) and will be MUCH BETTER

Bots again? No problem... IP ban - Or if you dont want to ban other people ~class IP ban~ , BAN SH*T kids by MAC ADDRESS... If they want to play this game again need to buy a new PC, or reinstall OS (Windows in this case)

Bugs/Game Crash? Where is DEVELOPERS in this game? They do nothing since 2013... - NICE
Make a new module, new ways to make money from players, new items to buy with ZEN...

Items: Really? Character Bound item/Account Bound Item, and finally normal item. ONE SINGLE ITEM IN 3 FORMS... WHY?
- I will explain you why: Is a easy way to manipulate people to BUY normal items with ZEN (Who cost money)
Character bound/Account bound items is to TRY the item effect... TO make PROFIT from this item, you need to ZEN BUY it first..

In conclusion:
I think im not the only one who is disappointed by this game.
I like the game, I want to play it, but I CANT... Like I said before, IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINK THIS.

Thank you for reading, I hope this message will be seeing by a GM/Game Developer.

i had extreme fun in the 2 weeks i played this game. But the game is extremely repetitive. the story is subpar. That being said, The game is extremely fun. I got to level 66 and was not once pressured to make a purchase. the AD market is broken and with enough persistence you can purchase anything in a very short time. this game sucked up almost all of my time for 2 weeks, but i have barley played it since. Like i previously stated it just gets boring and repetitive. Some of the events they add help, for example i sunk at 50+ hours into portobellos campaign and got almost everything. That being said the truly great events are few and far between. This game is definitely worth a shot since its a free to play.

Is pretty good.

In all seriousness, I've been playing this game for just about three years, a month off. Love it. I openly gave about a hundred and sixty dollars, because I love it so much. Did I need to pay them? No. Did I want to? Yes. Did it help me play? Yeah, yeah it did. Money gets you places, but it isn't the only way.

In PvP, at maximum level, you have to be paying a lot to be good, it's just blatant really. In PvE, if you get like two boosters on sale for six dollars, that's two characters already at level 60 in two days each, the max level being 70. Buy VIP for a month for ten dollars and that's 30 chances at REALLY good items.

This isn't rocket science people, a game is free, but they need a way of making money. People that cry "PAY TO WIN" don't know how economics works. Not every game can be "Pay for fashion" or "pay for fun of it". You have to have some real reason to pay. People pay 60 dollars for a triple A game, without even knowing much of it, yet won't pay twenty dollars after playing a game for thirty hours? Yeah, cool.

Like I stated. is cool game. Is pretty good.

The Game of Neverwinter can be fun at times but mostly it after w hile it gets boring. You do the same old time consuming quests which take a while to get to and sometimes thay can get extremely time-consuming. I would not suggest this game if you have low patience.

I've played this game since Beta, so I've probably clocked up 1k more hours than this over the time I've played it. I used to play this game all the time. But the devs in this game love to ♥♥♥♥ over the players and a f2p player will find themselves in dire straits because there is no such thing as f2p. Pvp is a joke, Pve content endgame is mostly a grind to get yourself on the same par as your average players, and there is little to no reward when it comes to running the "dungeons." Did I already mention the stupidly repetitive grinding through each of the campaign? This game is about as alt unfriendly as you can get. I used to love this game. I really did. Now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I seriously wouldn't.

Honestly.. I've been playing this game since mod 2 or something and many things have changed. In fact, i want to be accurate and i've been playing this game since Dread Ring was released. Before even Hunter Ranger,Scourge Warlock and Oathbound Paladin classes were even realeased. For those who have played this game they know the Dread Ring Campaign, they have played this game just before it's release date they know about what times i'm talking about.Back then there was no overflow experience and not 70 level being the maximum level.I remember dungeons were divided in 3 tiers and the highest gear score(which is basically one's player stats)was about 21k and maximum HP about 50k(which back then it was something mad) and i'm talking about full epic equipment with full rank 10 enchantments.Things back then were not that easy but still. After i've realised the servers have been treated poorely by the developers and now the game is evolved into a stealing money machine i've reached into a conclusion. After experiencing the whole game in mod 6 i've grown tired of this, after watching everything change into some sort of artifact hunt and mythic b*llshit, after trancendent vorpal enchantments got out and rank 12 enchantments worthing a hell lot of money i understood that this game has been destroyed.Around 500 hours on Steam and same as many in Arc launcher almost to 1000 hours of gameplay i realised that i will be never be bored to the gameplay of this game.Because it is amazing but as i said before i'm tired of this sick growing development. If you are still reading this, good job.. many would have just ignored that or pass this review just like an old dusty book in a library but if you are the one curious to open and read that old dusty book, you are from now on a really good path because only dusty books hide some secrets and let's say that this review is just one of them.I'm telling that you will love this game but after spending all this time on this game and you reach to an end you'll then realise that it was a waste of time. Because gaming has now lost its own sense and meaning and you will really wonder why haven't you spent all this time somewhere else so in the end you would be satisfied. In all means(and just because i'm a assh*le writing all this huge boring sh*ty review)i'm telling you to play this game and you will have fun.You will come down my path and you'll experience as much as i had but in the end it doesn't even matter. So fellow gamer good luck :)
and don't forget it's good to explore new places.

This game WAS good! However it is now ruined by microtransacions and it is very difficult to get almost ANYTHING without grinding the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. Played it for 127 hours and only enjoyed 80 of them. PvP is also pay to win where the player who spent the most money beats up your ♥♥♥ everytime...

I would recommend it 1 year ago, but now I won\'t. Don\'t waste your time with this game

This is a fun game from lvls 1-60. Once you reach 60, it takes forever to lvl up and you are motivated by epic dungeons, which become available at lv 70. At lvl 70 the game goes from being free to play to free to lose. If you do not spend real money it is almost impossible to get decent gear or be able to afford to upgrade gear. You have a limit of about 36k rough AD you can refine per day, so that is your limit on income you can earn without paying. You can earn AD through other means, such as exploiting the constantly buggy auction house, or selling the items you get from dungeons, this still pays very low and consumes tons of time. If you do decide to play the game and put up with all the bugs, it is helpful to get VIP, which at the moment costs about 495k AD using the AD exchange. This will take a lot of time if you do not use real money, but it gives you and enchantment key and after having it for two months, I pretty much make the money I paid for it back, but haven't made more. Do not buy enchantment keys, they are a rip off and you will lose a lot of AD most of the time. It is a lot about luck, it is possible to buy 20 keys and get a legendary item, but most likely you will open 20 boxes and all average items and a few epics that still do not make up for the price of the keys. I have opened over a 100 boxes and have never gotten a legendary item. I have heard of people who have played for 8 months with VIP and got one, so it can happen. Just be aware it is very unlikely. I would recommend not spending any money on this game because the exchange rate is horrible and it is not a good game to invest in. It gets old and boring very fast once you understand how long it will take you to earn enough for good items. Rate: 6/10

Long time fan of all things forgotten realms here, and I wish I could reccomend this game. I wish I could say it's good. I want it to be good.

I have tried multiple times to pick it up and give it another shot, especially now that rage of demons is out and I would have a chance to play a game alongside Drizzt, the character that sucked me into this universe when I was young.

But the game is just... bad. Chat innundated with spammers, a world that feels watered down and stripped of the lore that made the games so great, a complete lack of customization for classes... it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ization of everything that makes Dungeons and Dragons great. Not to mention the advertisements everywhere for all the pay to win ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t and the ridiculous prices they ask for the most inane things.

This isn't dungeons and dragons. This is WoW with a badly done skin of dungeons and dragons thrown overtop of it. Maybe I'll try it again someday, and maybe it will get better, but I just cannot reccomend this game, at least not to anyone who wants the depth and character that D&D and the Forgotten Realms is so famous for.

If you want to experience that? Play the old games. Pick up Baldur's Gate, or better yet, pick up a pencil and print yourself a character sheet and play actual dungeons and dragons.

If my opinion changes, so will this review, but this game has shown me nothing to hold my interest other than one module that is *completely* different for tabletop, but I don't know if I can stomach the rest to get to 60 to experience the different campaigns.

I quit playing this game over a year ago due to severely unbalanced systems in every facet (Crafting, Economy, PvP, PvE). PvP was a total joke and the developers never once made any efforts to patch some balance into their money-sink.
Hacker and crackers and exploiters were allowed free run with ZERO banning.
Gold salez and gold spamz were actually encouraged by this company.
If you want a game that you can super easy hack then this is your spot. Have fun and become a pocket dev.
