Explore the Sea of Moving Ice!

The ice was here, the ice was there, the ice was all around…

The Sea of Moving Ice brings our story of Storm King’s Thunder to its epic culmination, finishing up the exciting adventures far up into the frozen north.

To recap on our story so far, Artus Cimber has pinpointed the location of the Ring of Winter. It's in Svardborg, the lair of Jarl Storvald in the far north oceans called the Sea of Moving Ice. It seems an impossible task, but with the fate of the world on the line, an attempt must be made to punch through the frost giants' defenses and recover the ancient artifact. This can’t be done alone. You need help. You need allies. You need an army!

Between helping their new allies by freeing them, arming and supplying them with food, you must also work with the arcane brotherhood and the Storm King's daughter, Princess Serissa, to forge an alliance against Storvald. The goal: track Jarl Storvold to his lair, breach his defenses, and launch an assault on the stronghold to take back the ring of winter.

Our new update has many exciting and new features: let’s take a look.

New Zone - The Sea of Moving Ice is a loose connection of 7 large and 10-12 smaller icebergs with the largest big enough to support a small army, or an entire tribe of Ice Hunters. Jarl Storvald has been using this vast floe to muster his forces and gather his resources to attack once he controls the Ring of Winter. Artus, Catti-brie and a hand full of other heroes have set up a secret camp on a small iceberg, magically hidden by the powerful mage known as Kavatos Stormeye. From there you will set about to take down Storvald and his army.

New Ways to Travel – Is that flail snail mount of yours afraid to go into the salt water? Fear not, as when you come into the Sea of Moving Ice, we give you a khyek outrigger boat for travel between the icebergs. Work hard and you’ll get a better one. Remember you don’t have to be faster than a dragon turtle, just faster than the guy in a khyek next to you.

Fishing Mini-game – We’ve revamped the old fishing and come up with an engaging mini game. Come try your luck and skill, and try not to become bait yourself. If you are really lucky, you may even catch a bottle with a treasure map.

Treasure Hunting - While adventuring in the Sea of Moving Ice you can come across bottles with bits of map in them. Match up the image on the map with a place in the zone and start digging.

New Trial - Assault on Svardborg. Join nine other adventurers on an epic assault against Jarl Storvald and his army, to take back the Ring of Winter.

Artifact Weapons - In your continued efforts to reclaim lost relics from the frost giants, you will earn powerful artifact weapons: weapons far stronger than any seen before. You are going to need them to take down the Jarl.

Extended Campaign - This expansion also sees an extension to the Storm King's Thunder campaign. As players conclude their search for the Ring of Winter, the story takes them to the Sea of Moving Ice. The campaign extends to cover this new zone and introduces new tasks as players meet and win favor with the Elk Tribe and explore the floating icebergs and frozen islands that drift in the region. The campaign screen tracks your standing with each ally and provides additional awards from each faction

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy adventuring in the Sea of Moving Ice. Remember, you don’t have to have the fastest khyek to outrun a dragon turtle, just faster than the guy fishing next to you!

Neverwinter: Storm King's Thunder is Live!

Greetings, adventurers!

Storm King’s Thunder calls heroes to Icewind Dale to solve a deadly mystery and recover an ancient artifact of immense power: the famed ring of winter. The ring has been seized by the fierce frost giant Jarl Storvald, who is attempting to control its powers and use it to freeze the oceans, blanketing the world with snow and ice. Orcs, goblins, barbarians, trolls, and other monsters are gathering in the north, ready to pledge fealty to Jarl Storvald should he succeed. This of course is causing havoc in the northern settlements of Ten-Towns.

There are other reasons to venture into the cold. The frozen lands of the north, once the center of the ancient Ostorian Empire, is littered with relics from that long-forgotten time. Those Ostorian relics now lie in dangerous places. They are well worth the risk of acquiring, for they are infused with Voninblod, the ancient power of the giants of old.

This exciting expansion introduces a new campaign that has heroes adventuring in three new wilderness zones, Bryn Shander, Lonelywood and Cold Run, culminating in our most challenging dungeon yet, Fangbreaker Island.

In addition to the new content we’ve listening to you and have been working hard to make changes in Neverwinter, in particular this time around with Class Reviews for the Hunter Ranger, Scourge Warlock, and Guardian Fighter. We made quite a few changes before the Class Reviews went to the Preview server, and then had lots of back and forth discussions on the preview forums, making additional changes and bug fixes with the support and assistance of our awesome preview player base!

Here's a list of some of the major features:
Three new zones: Bryn Shander, Lonelywood, and Cold Run
Ostorian relics system
New Dungeon
Class Balance updates for three classes: Hunter Ranger, Guardian Fighter, and Scourge Warlock
Runic Lockbox

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to adventuring with you in the Storm King’s Thunder! I’ll be the one wearing a big scarf!

I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind, but now I see.

Why do I have to spend $10 to upgrade one item of my gear? Why do I have to buy a bag to hold all this useless stuff you bind to my character? I can't even discard it. Why are you giving me campaign currency from a lock box? The campaign sucks, I am not wasting my time with it. I paid real money to open that lock box. Why are you making new dungeouns with 3k + gear score requirements? I've got over 600 hours and my GS is less than 3k. I would downvote this game, but I've played off and on for years, and had a lot of fun doing it. I imagine others will too, but I will never spend another dime of my easy earned money of this game.

The problem with this game is that it has very annoying progress system. Either you have to put your life in to it(be a no lifer) or pay $. So dicide if you wanna play or not. It's really sad that it follows the line of Forgotten Realms. As you know the story, content and everything else is great but when you reach lvl 70 with any of your characters you'll face the sad truth where you'll understand that you've just screwed. You'll have to obtain some equipement sets to be useful in dungeon runs(or noone will inv you to any parties) and you won't get them free. You'll have to work your ♥♥♥ for it or pay and even you finally reach after some months the set will have significat stat changes and no longer will be useful. The pvp is the part that i don't even want to talk about. It's straight p2w. You'll get one hit by a kid who has 4 mythic artifacts. Besides that i have personal other problems with it's graphics. I run the game on lowest graphics settings and even like that fps doesn't get higher than 6 in battles and max i get is 25 when notmoving and doing nothing+no moving objects on screen. As a player who has 500+ hours gameplay i won't recommend it to newcomers or any other player.

A fun game to play for the most part... if you have either 2 or 4 friends that play it with you. The dundeon queue used to allow anywhere from 1-5 players to tackle a dungeon. I solo'd a few once lvl'd up enough. Now you have to have either 3 or 5. Dungeoning was what made the game fun. That and a pretty lackluster loot system and regular game crashes and server disconnects make me not really care much for this game anymore. Not worth playing free, let alone spending any money on. There are much better choices out there.

It was a fun game and very nice community, but you need to grind all day to get somewhere.
Sadly now you need to pay for everything in the game if you want to have a good char.

I was utterly dissapointed by this game.
I was expecting for something like the old Neverwinter games, which this isn't really anything like.
And that might be the main reason I didn't really like this one...
But yeah, if you have friends to play with, this can be a fun game to play, just don't go in with the same expectations that I did.

I loved this game and also always went back to it. Pro is that it really is not a 'money grabber' and you could play this game free all along. To buy are general luxuries you don't really need. The game, even though it has been on the market for a very long time, is still full of people always and it never gets boring.
Now the bad part. I like to play solo a lot and that was possible till I got maxed out with 8 chars. I group sometimes but in general solo.
Well now with the new expansions of "Storm King's Thunder" etc it seems you cannot solo any longer. Suddenly the game is forced grouping and that is way I am saying good bye to this game. Glad Horizon is on the horizon.

Great game with great class mechanics, and a nice user interface and combat interface. Follows D&D pretty well with limited flaws from D&D and Forgotten Relms. The pvp system is nice, while it is in an arena format... you do get some good xp, mats, and currency from these pvp matches (win ro loose) and being 5v5 platform of pvp it is very fun. if any downfall at al it is that the chat system is a bit offish at times, with needing to hit enter and is a task at times to change channels and talk while questing. over all great game.

If neverwinter has not noticed, they dropped SO FAR in the popular free game slots. Sad to say most games head in the wrong direction most the time. Most games go to pay to win and lose tons of players which ends up making the game less fun, and then losing paying players because no one plays. I highly doubt they even look at the feed back they get. LOL. I logged on to play pvp(all i do is pvp on anygame) and literally had BOTS, people who didnt attack back and just ran to the objective and sat there. me and a guy on my team were the only ones actually playing. so sad.
