I sank nearly 2000 hours into this game and not reviewing for several reasons: Waiting it out for new content, borderline laziness and more borderline laziness.

This game is appealing to everyone, unless you are a 6 year old COD squeaker who is physically incapable of understanding "fun".

Builders? Check. Explorers? Check. People who like blowing stuff up? Double check.

And another thing to add: Unlike a lot of other games, Terraria is just incredible by itself. I've modded it, but had a hard time sinking in as much time as I did in the vanilla game.

It's not really a game, it's a time machine that takes you to 3am.

Holy hell. What a ride this has been.

I first recieved this game when I was selected as the winner of a giveaway. I thought, "Whatever, I've played Minecraft. This game is probably the exact same as it." After all, there are certain similarities between both games. Find yourself stranded in the wilderness, mine ores and create some bland weapons and kill a generic boss and win.

But the similarities end exactly there.

Now, this game, in the starting phase, is actually quite bland, and I nearly quit because of it at first, but with the help of some friends, I stuck with it. It was pretty generic stuff. Mine some boring ores, build a boring house, feel the occasional rush of excitement of succesfully spelunking a cave and escaping unscathed with a new weapon, or dying and dropping your money. You'll die quite a bit as well, but don't let that discourage you. The moment I realized the exact depth of the game (and realized Iactually loved this game) was the moment my friends and I summoned what is to be considered the first boss, the Eye of Cthulu. The intensity of the battle, especially with our underprepared selves and crappy armor (hint: armor is your best friend!) made victory all the more satisfying. The adrenaline rushes as a boss attack leaves you at low health and your struggle to survive easily surpasses Minecraft in it's entertainment value. Yet I believed that was all the game had to offer, that one bit of awesomeness.

Excluding event bosses, there are over 14 different and unique bosses of Terraria, each with their own unique powers, and in Expert mode, their strength is vastly increased and each boss gains a lethal special attack, from the Eye of Cthulu's blinding fast rushes to the Skeletron's deadly skull spin. No two bosses are the same, nor can they be approached in the same way. Nearly every boss requires meticulous planning and building. But that's not all. because you know what's better than killing a boss?

Sweet, sweet loot.

Emerging victorious from a boss fight is definitely cause for celebration, but emerging victorious with a new weapon is even better. From shields that allow for bash-like charging, to a scarf that reduces damage by 17%, every boss kill is new and gratifying with the loot.

Now, about now is where you can pick your specialization, especially if you're playing with friends. Will you be the hulking tank, absorbing all of the damage to protect your teammates? Or the looming mage, casting deadly spells from behind, or an archer, raining down death from above? It doesn't matter. After all, in Terraria, you're free to do what you want.

And right when you think things are getting bland again, hardmode hits you. All of your weapons and armor's effectiveness is quartered. Enemies are a challenge again. Venturing out at night is a near death sentence. New enemies will spawn, and new loot along with it. But again, don't be discouraged. You'll die quite a bit, after all. Build your strength up again, and go kick some ♥♥♥.

So after 600+ hours, I figured I knew enough about the game, and I will say that it is a great game. It was a great experience learning new things for me and getting overpowered quick. The only thing that I really didn't like however, was that npc housing is very "glitchy" to say the least, but the game is incredibly creative for 2d, but I really don't like how certain methods of doing things can leave a very broken gameplay to say the least. Like certain weapons should be nerfed massively. I also tried the game out with several mods and enjoyed that as well.

Overral GREAT game: so worth $10 spent.
If you like sandbox and exploration games THIS GAME IS FOR YOU.

It's the best game ever...
Had it on the Xbox 360 and PS4, on both about 3-400 hrs of gameplay, now on PC also about 200hrs of gameplay, and the building-survival factor keeps it going on.
There are so many different building materials, and equipables and items to collect, so it keeps you busy for the next couple of months if you're really up for collecting everything :)
I stopped playing on the console on 1.2.4 because I had done about everything, and since I heard about the 1.3.3 update, and the new NPCs I really take a big time enjoying fishing a lot in this game.
Not purely before the crates or the quests, but the quests add a different perspective to the game, and it's sometimes just nice to kill some time catching some fish :)
I also like that most of the useable stuff is placeable, like swords can go into racks, and armour on mannequins.
There's literally so much to explore that I could write an essay about what's there to do in Terraria, but then I'll be here in two days still typing this review.
If you have to ask me, I recommend Terraria to everyone, because it's a game for everybody :)
(P.S. you can also play with different classes :) )

Know to many as the minecraft ripoff, this great 2D adventure sandbox game is just beyond awesome. One of my personal favorites and definetely worth the 10 euros. It in my opinion doesn't have much cons and the community is active too (As far as I know). It has great boss battles, some harder than others and has different gamemodes to play in, from easy to expert. You can do pretty much anything here and the possibilities are endless. I'd give this game a 9/10, because games can always improve at something, for example the Steam multiplayer bugging out a lot.

Very fun game, it has a lot more content that other open world creative games, and also requires much more strategy. If you want to get good items in the game you actually have to try a little hard.

Adding to the positive reviews that this game deserves. Amazing game, must buy, should be in anyone's games list.

Short Review:
Not much to be said that someone else hasn't already said. I have played every game in Terraria's genre and nothing comes close to being as good as Terraria. There is a reason it's the most rated game on Steam. Terraria is perfect for people that want to have a lot to do, but also is great for people that just want to express their creativity with building random stuff.

Terraria Otherworld hasn't been announced for steam yet, so if you read this you should post on their forums for a steam release.

Amazing Game:

Terraria as a whole is a great game, lovely graphics that made it a unique experience when it was released. The game is full of things you can do and is fun single player and multiplayer alike. There are some pros and cons to this 2D adventure game though.

-Cool pixel graphic
-Cool worlds
-Nice gameplay and good game feel
-Amazing when you play with friends
-Stunning world backgrounds
-Nice story
-Decent building system
-Vast number of items

-Does not have much of a replay value, the game is super fun the first run, but if you try it a second time, it is not nearly as good unless there is a nice update to go along with the replay
-Not that long of a game, you can beat it rather quickly and as I said above, not much of a replay value
-Multiplayer used to be complex to set up

Overall though, awesome game.

A great game with tons to do! If you're saying no because of experience with mobile devices, dont. The PC version has much more gameplay. tons of exciting bosses, houses and villages where villagers can move into the houses, mining, cave crawling, it has everything! It even has funny items, (Im looking at you fart in a jar and meowmere) THe only one bad thing i would have to say about this is that you wouldnt like it if you're not OK with spending a while gaining resources and doing "chores" of sorts like gaining money and subsiding the corruption. 90/100 for my review

Terraria is a game where anything is possible and without it I would’ve ever been able to
Chop down a tree all by myself
Walk to the ocean and back
Fish throughout the night (with a fishing rod I made myself)
See a dead person walk
Catch falling stars and put them into a little bottle
Build and design my house (and actually have people live with me)
Have fun
Go underground
Catch butterflies (trust me… It’s hard)
Run very fast
Go on for days without eating
The list goes on and on and on and on and on… But I have to stop there and say that this is a 10/10 game and I would do again.

This game is bliss, especially with friends. It boils down to fighting bosses and building everything, but that's not all.

Go throw your money at this game.
