What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Necroforge: Outbreak is in Early Access so we can improve combat feel, hero balance, build variety, performance and long-term replayability alongside players. The core game is playable now, with four heroes, a large relic system, an expanded world and online score competition. Early Access lets real runs and direct feedback shape what we polish and expand next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately 6–12 months from the initial Early Access release. This is an estimate rather than a promise: the timing of version 1.0 will depend on stability, content breadth, balance, performance and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand and polish the systems already present rather than replace the core game. Potential areas include more enemies and boss encounters, additional relics and build interactions, broader world variety, improved animation and audiovisual presentation, accessibility and quality-of-life options, deeper challenge and leaderboard features, and further performance work. Priorities may change as we learn from players during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version offers complete score-driven survival runs with four playable heroes: Bob, George, Karen and Cap. Each has a distinct combat model, resource loop and role. Players fight standard, elite and boss enemies across a procedurally assembled world with six biome identities, build around a large pool of relics and upgrades, review detailed damage results and compete on an online leaderboard filtered by patch and character.

The game is fully playable but remains in active development. Players may still encounter bugs, balance outliers, performance issues in extreme late-game hordes and presentation that will continue to improve before version 1.0.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase when Necroforge: Outbreak leaves Early Access to reflect additional content and polish. Any planned price increase will be communicated in advance. The current Early Access version is sold as a playable product at its current price, not as a promise of specific future features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We monitor Steam discussions, reviews, bug reports, leaderboard results and direct gameplay feedback. We also analyze full run data and repeatable balance simulations to compare player experience with measurable outcomes. Community feedback helps us prioritize balance, combat feel, readability, quality of life and future content. Major changes and patch notes are communicated through Steam announcements.”
