About This Game

Exit Denied is a first-person psychological horror game set in a dilapidated psychiatric asylum where something unnatural stalks the corridors. Trapped and unarmed, you are constantly hunted by the Morph.

The Path to Freedom:

• Search & Explore: Search the asylum for keys to unlock locked areas.

• Hide: If the Morph gets too close, lockers offer shelter. But beware: as long as you are in its line of sight, you cannot hide.

• Craft a Weapon: Search weapon crates for components to assemble at a workbench. Only when the weapon is complete will the escape route open.

• No Ammo: The crafted weapon is completely empty for now – there is no ammunition inside the asylum.

The Final Showdown

If it comes to a showdown, you must act fast. Under immense time pressure, you have to choose and inspect the right magazine out of 3: only one of them contains the single, lifesaving bullet.

• Procedural Variation: Replaying a level keeps the layout identical, but everything else changes:

  • Keys and locks are newly assigned and hidden across different locations.

  • Weapon crates and items spawn in completely new places.

  • Dynamic Lighting System – ceiling lights offer completely different light and shadow conditions every single time.

Developer Note:

"Exit Denied" is my very first released game. I am using this project as a stepping stone to gain hands-on experience in game development.
