What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access has been an opportunity to add many great features, thanks to player feedback.

The game may already seem complete, with the entire Cold War timeframe playable, from 1949 to 1989.
In fact, I wouldn’t blush if I had to push the final release button tomorrow.

However, I will keep the game in Early Access for a little while longer, to polish it further and to add or experiment with a few more features I have in mind.
(and also to pick the most favorable launch window from a marketing point of view)”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to release the final version anytime between March 2026 and June 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Most of the planned (and unplanned) work has been completed, so you can expect a few more themed events and gameplay mechanics.
At this point, what will be added to the game will depend more on my mood and player requests than on a written to-do list.

What WILL NOT be included in the final release:
-All content set before 1949 or after 1989 will be released as separate DLCs.
-Any country other than the USA and the USSR will be available through separate DLCs (this way, I can offer a very affordable base game price).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can play 12 different scenarios of varying lengths, spanning from 1949 to 1989, with both the USA and the USSR.

Additionally, there is a Grand Campaign that covers the entire 1949-1989 period.

What has already been added to the game during Early Access:
-Alternate policy paths for the USSR
-A geostrategic advantages system
-A national policies system
-A regional intelligence bureau
-Many new technologies and events
-Many information feedback-driven features
-Many game options
-A decent AI (unless you are playing at easy or normal difficluty level, but that's intended)

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game price is increased every here and then as content is being added.
Expect to pay a higher price at final release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“You will find a vibrant community on Discord, where most discussions and feedback take place. Players can also post on the Steam forums.”

About This Game

Maestro’s Cold War 2 is a replayable grand-strategy sandbox about the world’s tensest standoff of the Cold War.

Play as the USA or the USSR, manage Prestige, Budget, and National Policies, and bend history through policies, proxies, diplomacy, and brinkmanship.

Easy to pick-up but hard and deep enough to offer a challenge, this is the kind of game you will keep coming back to.

How Does the Game Work?

The objective is simple: earn more prestige points than your opponent.

You gain prestige by improving diplomatic relations and signing treaties with countries across the globe. At the same time, your opponent will work relentlessly to undermine the nations in your bloc and shift the balance of power in their favor.

Beyond diplomacy, you must also manage your nation’s internal policies and carefully plan how to exploit the geopolitical landscape to weaken your rival over time.

Are you ready to lead your ideology to global dominance—or will history repeat itself?

If you're familiar with my work, you know I focus on crafting games you can enjoy in a single evening, yet with enough depth to offer endless replayability.

I’m confident the game's simple mechanics paired with historical events that force you to make impactful choices, will provide over 100 hours of entertainment.

Now:

Have fun! (this is an order, not a wish!)                                                                                                                       -Maestro Cinetik
