The ‘Peak’ of British Railway’s diesel fleet comes to Train Simulator in original BR blue livery.

Built by BR’s Derby and Crewe Works between 1960 and 1962, the Sulzer Type 4 diesel locomotive were the main passenger locomotives on the Midland Main Line from their introduction until their withdrawal in the early 1980s.

When initially put into service, the ‘Peaks’ – their nickname inherited from their Class 44 predecessors – were fitted with multi-unit working and steam heating boilers for passenger services. However, in the early 1970s, 50 of the 183 built were fitted with the more modern electric train supply in place of steam heating boilers, and renumbered as Class 45/1.

With a top speed of 90mph (145 km/h), the ‘Peaks’ also worked the North Trains-Pennine route from Manchester to Liverpool, becoming a common and popular sight until HSTs and more modern units took over in the 1980s.

The BR Class 45 ‘Peak’ for Train Simulator is a former Iron Horse House model, which has been updated to TS2015 standard, including new scenarios and improved exterior modelling. Available in BR Blue livery, also included are BR Mk2a blue/grey passenger coaches.

The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the BR Class 45 ‘Peak’ on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Liverpool-Manchester route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).

The people of New Town are totally unaware,
Of a place you imagine only if you dare,
Trainsylvania is a spooky and frightful land,
In which the Count of Monster Disco has a mansion so grand.

He is holding a party for his frightful friends,
But something’s not right as dusk nears an end,
Not a pumpkin, decoration or nibble in sight,
Will everyone be disappointed this party night?

You are the monstrous driver of a ghoulish steam train,
But will getting the supplies be a complete pain?
Capture the cobwebs and gather the snacks,

But beware…..

The sight of the guests will make your bones CLICKETY-CLACK!

It’s Halloween, and the vampire owner of Trainsylvania Mansion, the Count of Monster Disco, is looking forward to the Halloween Party he holds every year for his frightful friends.

But, there’s a problem! It’s dusk already and his mansion isn’t ready for the party. As Frankie, the monstrous driver of ‘The Spirit of Halloween’ steam train, help our horrible host organise his fright night. Through a series of frighteningly exciting tasks, explore the spooky town of Trainsylvania to pick up Halloween decorations, wagons filled with monster snacks and carriages of ghoulish passengers.

Then, deliver them to Trainsylvania Mansion and make this a Halloween party to remember!

But only if you dare……

The DB Class 103 operated by DB, was considered the flagship of the DB fleet for a long period. It was up until 1987 that this locomotive monopolized high speed trains in Germany. It is one of the most powerful conventional electric locomotives ever built, with a one hour rating of 10,400KW or 13,900HP.

During the 1950s there was a desire to produce an electric locomotive that could operate at speeds up to 200km/h. These were unveiled at the International Transport Fair in Munich in June 1965 as the Class E.03 (which became Class 103.0 when the new numbering system was introduced). Exhibition runs operated the train between Munich and Augsburg, achieving 200km/h on a regular basis. The fastest speed recorded on a Class 103 was 283km/h (176mph).

Following additional developments, the Class 103 became the backbone of the German Trans Europe Express (TEE) and Intercity lines.

The long reign of the Class 103 drew to a close in 1987 with the introduction of the new InterCityExpress (ICE) trains, with the Class 103 relegated to local services with more frequent stops.

A total of 17 Class 103s have been preserved, with 5 of them still in operation, 2 of which are still part of DB's fleet and often used in test runs.

The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the DB Class 103 TEE on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Hamburg Hanover route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).
