I've been developing the game in Early Access since July 2018. In those 3 years it has undergone countless changes and improvements based on feedback from players around the world. It's now the biggest, deepest and most complex game I've ever made.

Hello Switch pilots!

A patch has just been released for Switch 'N' Shoot (version 1.3.5).



As mentioned in the earlier beta notes, this update brings the following changes...


A number of Linux users reported a blank screen when starting the game, with audio playing in the background. The game has been rebuilt with a much more recent and stable version of Unity, which brings a bunch of its own fixes over.

I gathered feedback from the beta version of this patch. Several players told me that it fixed the issue for them, whilst others told me it did not.

If you continue to experience this problem after the update, please try the fix in this discussion thread.

This patch adds D-pad support for Xbox One and Xbox 360 controllers, in addition to the existing analogue stick support.

Since the beta patch, this has also been improved to work correctly on Linux too.

Please let me know if you have any issues with the new version.

Hey switchers 'n' shooters!

I've just updated the game to a much more recent (and stable) version of Unity, which I'm hoping addresses some common problems among Linux users.

Version 1.3.5 is now available as a beta. See below for details on how to access it before full release.


If you've been playing on Linux and experiencing a white screen with no game visible, please try downloading the new patch (version 1.3.5) and let me know in the comments or discussions whether or not this patch fixes it.

This patch also includes D-pad support for Xbox One controllers, in addition to the existing analogue stick support.

1. Right-click Switch 'N' Shoot in your Steam Library.
   
2. Select Properties.
   
3. Select the Betas tab on the left.
   
4. Use the dropdown menu to select the "public_beta" and wait for it to download.

To return to the normal version, just select "None" in step 4.

Please let me know if you have any issues with the new version.

The requirements for unlocking two of the 'grindy' achievements have been reduced. This was in response to feedback from several players.

• Ultrahyperdrive - Hyperdrive 125 times (reduced from 250).
  
• Yakety Sacs - Kill 25 Incubators (reduced from 25).

These changes were made in the Steam back-end and no update is required for the actual game itself.

If you restart Steam you should see the new values take effect. If you had already passed the new thresholds but not the old ones, you should see the achievement(s) unlock automatically when Steam starts.

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback so far! I'm a solo developer so receiving feedback is super helpful for improving the game, even a few years after it's released! :)

Ghost Grab 3000 is a score-based arcade 'bullet hell' with a unique game mechanic...


You can chain together any ghosts that enter your beam, then destroy the entire chain all in one go. The longer your chain, the bigger your score multiplier.
