What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Because I need to hear from you to avoid the mistakes of my past release. By the day of release I whant it polished like a diamond and.... I'm going to be honest with you, my pc broke so badly that I'm releasing the build of what was closed beta and was already on Steam servers. I dont know when I'll be able to retake the work (fixed), I've spent a crapton of money in a new rig that just got bricked like the old due to what aparently could be an electrical issue of my new place's network.

The release as it is, is perfectly playable and got possitive feedback. Yet you may encounter it crashing from time to time, some unpolished behaviours etc.. due to its under development status.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This could be a year as it could be a couple.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Final will feature the best ever 3D maps of Tokyo, ever. During T.W development I made a trip to Tokyo to take the data for new maps (current harbour is legacy map). Took about 17K photos for reference, modelling and texturing and I do also have topographic and lidar data. I know how to handle all this stuff and put it together to deliver what I promise as I'll be mixing best CAD, Survey and art tools to achieve so.

Akihabara and full Shinjuku area ( multiple maps)

A crapton of land units”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable with many tanks available for you to play. Plus all the content is unlocked so you can jump and mess around with everything. Online is dissabled as it needs more work but you can play against AI in the two available modes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes and no. The game will be f2p. Atm tho, you can jump in and as there are no dlcs and everything is unlocked, there is nothing to pay for. Yet, if you whant to support this project by graving a copy of the original Tokyo Warfare I'll be extremelly gratefull as will help me getting out from the financial hole Im atm. I can't even afford a new workstation.
By release date there will be paid content such as maps or some rad tanks. But if you whant to simply have it all, you'll be able to get a Platinum Pass that will grant you all current and future dlc's.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“To put it simple. I try to implement as much ideas I can.”

About This Game

Tokyo Warfare Turbo was initially going to be a remaster of Tokyo Warfare but I've added so many fixes tweaks and I plan so much more stuff that will esentially be new iteration in the series.

It has been updated to an state of the art version of the game engine, among with the upgraded code, ressults in a remarcable performance and graphics boost. For reference in a modern pc you can handle 27 AI on the harbour map at 70+FPS or achieve ultra high frame rates with more modest AI counts.

Unlike in TW this release will be more focused on Tokyo themed maps featuring:

  • Tokyo Bay Area
  • Akihabara (WIP)
  • Shinjuku (WIP)

Yet a sepparate package with nature and non jp maps will be available.

In regards to tanks, the ones from TW, plus the new ones that will be regularly added to the library.

The gameplay is completelly arcade and you can play against CPU in Team deathmatch and in free4all mode.

There are two graphic modes. HD and Anime mode. Each triggering different visual and fx moods.
