What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“There you are standing in a wild forest, your senses are at war with the sounds of nature, birds singing to a tune we can’t hear, because to our ears, they are singing too fast. Now. Set the on/off switch in the "on" position. The throttle "on" position. Tweak the throttle. Pull the engine cord several times through until the engine "grinds into power". The explosive sound echoes through the forest.

Our next game entitled Lumberjack’s Dynasty is about working with nature to turn a profit and grow a family. To make our games exceptional, we need your input to reach our vision for our games. Like the chainsaw the noise can be deafening sometimes, need to turn it off and listen to our gamers, as we want to release the title in the best possible quality. Therefore, we will release updates on a regular basis to increase the quality and the content of the game. Please help us to reach our own set goals.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning to have the title at least for six months in Early Access – also depending on additional (and feasible) ideas that cross our or your minds in the meanwhile. We are also working on the respective console versions and will most likely release all platforms at the same time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to differ from the Early Access version in a larger scope. There are a few lose ends we want to tie together and some eager plans for expansion in the following areas:

  • Machinery: We are going to add new machinery - especially there will be operable heavy machinery from Finnish market leader Ponnse.
  • Animal: You will be able to buy cattle.
  • Flirting and marriage: We are going to include a whole system revolving around flirting and marriage including your own kids.
  • Questlines: We are going to expand on different questlines.
  • Fishing: Fishing should get more in-depth and complex.
  • Herbalism: Herbalism should get more in-depth and complex.
  • Cooking: Cooking should be expanded including making your own recipes.
  • Gardening: We are going to introduce gardening including planting flowers.
  • Skills: You will be able to invest and specialize in more skills.
  • Story: We are planning to expand the story as a whole.
  • NPCs: New NPCs to interact with will be included.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is already very stable and well performing. Players can experience large parts of the quest driven storyline and enjoy many of the key gameplay features such as woodcutting and wood processing, repairing buildings, finalizing missions and earn money to buy new equipment... Localization has been done into German and English languages and we will add new stuff into the game step by step.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We genuinely want to engage you in the process of finalizing the game and do value your input. Therefore, we have set an attractive price point at the moment – also to thank you for your feedback. However, depending on the additional work and final scope of the game, the price may go up with the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Totally. We want to get as much feedback as only possible to increase the quality of our game.”

About This Game

A unique life simulation where you are a lumberjack building up a business and founding a lasting dynasty for generations to come.

Lumberjack's Dynasty is a mix of forestry, logging, business- and life-simulation with role playing elements. You start at a run-down logging camp which you slowly take over from your aunt and uncle as you restore it to its former glory. Along with cutting timber and hauling it to the mill for further production, you will enjoy various quests that will help you improve not only your business, but your character’s skills.

Choose your playstyle: quickly become a straightforward and professional lumberjack by purchasing, cutting and converting large forests into products, or explore the full depth of the game and experience the vast range of activities from repairing and renovating your buildings and vehicles, fishing, harvesting honey, and growing vegetables. As you build your business, you can socialize with locals, find love and start your own family.

Lots of fun (and hard work) is waiting for you as you build a successful Lumberjack’s Dynasty.
