What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are releasing Werewolf Hunter X in early access during development to advance the mechanics of our game with the guidance of the Steam Community.

Though still in development the game is already playable, and generally bug free. We are looking for feedback from users on the Item Design mechanic of the game before going forward with further content, story, and level design.

During the Early Access period we plan to release new mechanics for easier and faster crafting in battle, that will need to be tested and fine tuned before the full game release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our team typically works in two week sprints, which is based on our game’s current development road map as well as community requests over the course of the Early Access period.

Bug fixes and minor patching will occur weekly to address game issues.

We plan to release the full version of the game in the Fall of 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have a polished GUI, improved art, and several other finishing touches and additions to the core game that will be decided in part by the Early Access community.

We are planning several new features to be developed into the game during the Early Access period, including (but not limited to):

• Smoother Blueprint creation process based on user feedback from the Early Access community
• Support for multiple languages and keyboard layouts
• Better character creation to start your journey as uniquely as possible
• Steam trading cards
• Additional music tracks
• Mini games and quests
• More perks
• Improved artwork and animations
• Color Blindness game play compatibility
• Accessibility for the hearing impaired
• And bug fixes”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Werewolf Hunter X is currently playable, but there is still a lot of placeholder art and unfinished content that is important to the main story and play of the game. This leaves the game a little rough around the edges, but playable and mostly bug free. Game progress is hurtling rapidly forward, and content updates are planned to be pushed at the end of two-week sprints throughout Early Access with input from the community.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Werewolf Hunter X is planned to remain at the current price during Early Access to reward community involvement in the game. After Early Access the price of Werewolf Hunter X is planned to be raised to reflect the finished quality of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to engage the Steam community regularly through user feedback on the community pages. Votes are planned to be taken on what we add in the coming updates, and contests will be held with in-game rewards. We plan to actively communicate with the players, and use that feedback to help us make the best finished game we can.”

About This Game

The Rundown:
Werewolf Hunter X is a 2d crafting survival game that is currently in development by SeaCreatureSandwich, and features unique item building, procedural generation, rogue-like resource scarcity, mythical monsters, and much more.

The unique Item Design mechanic allows the player to create custom items in game time from any available resources.
This can be handy for getting out of sticky situations. Fall into a pit while exploring a cave? Build a bat guano ladder! Suprise attack while farming? Build a carrot sword!
Material properties directly affect the player and the game world around them, so building armor out of lava is not recommended, but possible. There is no limit to what you can create!

Werewolf Hunter X features Procedural world generation, random events, and rogue-like resource scarcity/trade-offs

Day and night cycle mechanics, persistent time, and weather bring the world to life!

Blueprints:
The Blueprint Maker is available at any point during the game. Pick ingredients, design your items game world appearance, review the potential item stats, give the item a name and create the Blueprint. It's fun and easy.

A long time ago the planet called Earth was destroyed. The final act of the human race as Earthlings was to build four massive ships that would hold the sum of our kind. The ships were sent out into the far reaches of the universe in hopes that we might find a new home for mankind.

Roughly twenty two hundred years later one did! The planet was 98% compatible. Off the charts. The planet's original inhabitants seemed to have suffered a species ending event that left the planet more or less intact.

After a thorough assessment while in orbit we landed and began to colonize. Our disassembled ship became strong walls around the colony, keeping out the wandering, ruthless monsters that were the shadows of the planet's previous tenants.

A message was sent to the other three ships so that they could make their way to Humanity's new home, as they had all planned so long ago.

Now, we are left to prepare for their arrival. We must build our small colony into a great empire, fight off the demons of the new world, and conquer the unruly landscape of our new home.
