What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“BAYANI has been through lots of iteration, development started 2016 and has been demoed on different events where the game is played by beginners, casuals and pro fighting game enthusiast. All the important and precious feedbacks collected over the years molded the game as to what it is today – a game worthy to be called a “fighting game” enjoyed by casual and professional players alike. But we are far along from being done as we need more months to develop the characters, game balance, new features and overall game polish.

BAYANI is the first commercial fighting game developed in the Philippines, our team is small but we are serious on our goal to deliver a fighting game experience that is worth playing. With early access, we can get more players involved in the development to help us fine tune, balance and be with us as we move along in developing more features of the game. We are eager to work with the community – join us and let’s make BAYANI even more awesome!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access until Q4 2019. Depending on how our development progresses we could either release earlier or later.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We will develop more content and add more characters as we go along the Early Access. We plan to have a total of 8 (or more) polished characters, stages, music, costumes, mechanics, game modes, optimization and polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The following features are planned to be part of the early access version.

  • 4-5 playable characters
  • Arcade Mode
  • 1v1 Local Multiplayer
  • Training Mode
  • 4-5 stages.
  • Sound effects and partial voice overs.
  • Fully animated game intro with theme song
  • Original character soundtracks
  • Controller support with option to re-map

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price as more features and content becomes available in the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“BAYANI will be in an going state of constant updates and improvements until all the features that we planned are developed and the game completely released. Feedback from players is super precious especially to a small indie team like ours. The better the community get involved the better the game will become.

Reviews - To possibly and literally attack a colonizer with a book, keep an eye out for the Filipino fighter Bayani: Kanino Ka Kakampi?!, recently showcased at IndieCade 2018.” - No video game genre assembles a cast of heroes quite like the fighting game. So when creating the very first Filipino fighting game, why not populate its roster with our own national heroes?” - if you ever wish to play a fighting game where you can say “I love my own” then this is a game that we can all be proud of as Filipinos”

Development Update

We've been continuously working with FChamp to improve the game. We have updated our engine and started working with Joe again starting late December. We have improved Joe's animations and frame data making it possible to do different combos in the game. We are now working on Tonio, improving his moves to fit his archetype. The game is shaping up really well, the team and FChamp are doing their best to bring this game to life!
