About This Game

Content warning: Magic Trickery is an optimistic trauma-recovery story. It contains mild text references to family abuse, grooming and children getting hurt. I consider it appropriate for teenagers or older, but not young children.

Mrs. Jones has woken up in the fantastic world of magic... Magic Trickery is a shorter-but-sweeter casual RPG for all skill levels with a cozy pixelled overworld and traditional turn-based stylized cartoon battles, with a focus on exploration, collectibles and finding secrets at your own pace.

• Totally indie! Support a little indie dev! Scenario, writing, art, music and programming all by me, some guy you've never heard of.

• 5 chapters, one purchase! The Diamonds Demo, Clubs Chaos, Spooky Spades, Harmful Hearts and Suits Spectacular chapters will be incrementally updated to your copy of Magic Trickery for free as they're made. 

• Story-based! A good-hearted plot about understanding others from vulnerable circumstances, recovery, and self-forgiveness. Also, jokes.

• Lovingly densely packed! A shorter-but-sweeter RPG that respects your time, with a surprise around every corner. Tons of varied sub-areas in each suit world that don't overstay their welcome.

• Traditional turn-based combat! Defeat foes with a variety of magical cards discovered in the overworld, with wild utility such as proccing yourself with crit-enhancing risky "Diamonds" which're used as fuel for other attacks.

• Find all the spell cards! A suit of 13 cards awaits you in each area, totalling a full deck of 52 cards to collect! Each card permanently unlocks a new attack for battle!

• Defeat corrupt magicians! From entertaining birthday parties to kidnapping children, these evil magicians must be stopped!
