What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“It's not easy to complete the development of the real-world map renderer without community support. Early Access is the perfect method to gather feedback and make final changes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Two months or more depending on community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“World renderer of Early Access version of the game has limited level of details. For example, traffic lights and road signs are not rendered in current version. Full version will have improved world renderer which will be completed taking into account the views of the community. Also, final version will get in-game map editor and Steam Workshop integration. Gameplay changes are not planned.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Gameplay part is ready: you can load any available place on the map and start playing. The game includes one game mode. Visual part, as explained above, is not detailed enough and will be modified with the following updates. Also, current version of the game doesn't include map editor and doesn't have Steam Workshop integration.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No price change is planned.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Generation Streets is based on the real-world map, that's why it's critical to gather feedback from people around the globe. Feel free to participate in the discussions on the community message boards. Your comments will affect the final changes in the game. Also, the game will provide a set of tools for mod making.”

About This Game

What if we take the real-world map and make all buildings three-dimensional? And then draw textures on them and put some trees, power lines and other visual garbage around? That's what:

In the same way, almost any point on Earth can be loaded into the game. Load your hometown, find your place and this casual game start giving you very unexpected impressions.

Warning: though the most places have a relatively high level of detail, it's impossible to render objects exactly as they look in the real world due to map mistakes or lack of geodata, especially in rural areas. Do not expect a 100-percent match. Places will look recognizable but no more. Also, some places are just completely missing on the map and will be not rendered.
