What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are releasing our game via Early Access out of necessity rather than choice. Due to circumstances out of our control we were given a platform to show our game to a lot of people; we wanted to provide them with the chance to buy the game if they liked it and we didn’t want to have to cut a lot of content to do so.

This is also a great opportunity to get some more F R E S H feedback on our little game so we can tweak development while the project is still underway! So, if you have a fire burning in your loins that was set alight by the sultry passions of our juicy video game let us know! And probably let a doctor know too.

We would love to hear from anyone and everyone who plays the game so that we can know what we did right and, most importantly, know what we did wrong! So that we can learn from our mistakes. And move on. We’re not bitter about it.

It’s super important to us that everybody who plays the game has as much fun as we did making it; we’d love to hear from you!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Not too long! If things go according to plan, we should be able to release the full title in around three months!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game isn’t quite as finished as we’d like it to be. We will continue to add more content to each level to help flesh them out and give them that fleshy feel that you like to feel. You know, the fleshiness. Rest assured, there’s plenty of flesh comin’ your way.

While most of the core content is in, there’s plenty of stuff we have left to do in terms of polish, balancing and general game feel. The first level, Neon Nights (rooftop bar), took several months and multiple iterative designs to get it looking and feeling the way we wanted. We don’t want to just spit out some half-finished levels to make it look like we have more content at face value, we want each level to feel fun and different! So that takes some time.

We will spend more time in Poseidon’s Getaway (yacht) & Lazer Lounge (nightclub) until they’re both as radical and neon-soaked as we know they need to be. We also need a little more time to balance everything. From the in-game economy to the damage those pesky enemies give and take, it could all use some of that tender loving that you know only we can give it.

P.S. don’t worry, there are no microtransactions, the only economy I’m talking about is the dosh you earn from each shift behind the bar.

TLDR; same game but feel more good and have more things.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“As previously mentioned, the core of the game is in so it is still very much playable. And enjoyable! It’s just not perfect and we are perfectionists. You can play all of our currently planned levels and use all of the overpowered guns in the extensive arsenal provided to you.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. As the game is not finished it will be cheaper to buy it now, we think that’s fair to you and us. If you want to support our development and purchase the game now for a reduced price, we love you! If you want to wait until the game is done and buy it for the full price, we love you! It should also be made clear that any updates to the game during the Early Access will obviously be free and those who purchased during Early Access will get all the updates up until it is fully released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As previously mentioned, we’d love to hear from each and every one of you. In fact we expect it. Don’t wait three days to call us, we don’t scare that easily. Whether it’s through the Steam Community Hub or through our very own community discord (coming S O O N™) we want YOU to come and talk to US. Tell us your hopes and dreams and we’ll tell you ours.”

Early Access, Discord, and What's Next!

Hello everyone!

It's been an incredible few weeks since our early access launch and we wanted to take this opportunity to not only pat ourselves on the back for being so damn good at making video games, but also to thank each and every one of you for your support. Yes, even you. Especially you. We are so humbled by the response our game has recieved, and being a part of the PAX Aus Indie Showcase was an incredible experience.

So here's the thing - we're happy with what we've achieved, but just like me at 3am after my first fistful of cheese from the packet at the back of the fridge, we're back and we're hungry for more.

Here's the plan for the next couple of weeks:

COMMUNITY DISCORD!

Well, this one is kind of cheating since we've already done it. You can join the discord here: https://discord.gg/vMQgCKA

CONTENT ROADMAP!

We promised a lot for early access, and our goal is to deliver. We believe that what we deliver and how we deliver it should be transparent, so we're going to show our work and ensure that we're delivering the content that we know we'll be proud of all the while making sure you know what's going on. Neat, huh?

A LIVE ACTION TRAILER!?

That's right. We got one of those. I was there, I wasn't in it, but I was there. It was rad. You can check out that bad boy here

About This Game

BULLET-RIDDLED BARTENDING

Throw yourself back into an alternative 80’s, where gangs rule the streets but the party must go on. As a hard-as-nails bartender, it’s your job to keep the drinks flowing and the bad guys off your turf. You have been entrusted with B.A.R.R - the latest and greatest in sentient drink preparation technology, and it's up to you to keep it out of the hands of those who would use it for far more nefarious purposes. Luckily, B.A.R.R is also equipped with the latest in anti-theft technology - you.

BE THE 80’S ACTION HERO

It's not enough to be good at mixing drinks, and just being able to take out a bad guy without breaking a sweat won't do the trick either - you'll need to be a wizard at both if you're going to keep B.A.R.R safe, keep the customers happy, and make sure you survive your shift long enough to spend all your hard earned money.

FEATURES:

- Masterful bartending action
- Combat that will make you feel like an 80's action star
- Glorious neon covered levels capturing retrowave nightlife
- Multiple baddies (yes one of them has roller skates)
- A load of different weapons - grab one out of the holster and see what you get!
- An apartment to hang out in
- A sentient talking bar/new best friend!
- Retro 80's A E S T H E T I C
