New arenas added!


We've added another set of multiplayer arenas to AS+CEND today. Now all the 2v2 matches will take place on our Mars biome. This gives us two distinct combat theaters for you to destroy your enemies in!

For now all Duels will be using our Luna Station biome while all Skirmishes will be happening over on Mars, but we'll be extending both biomes to all modes in the future in addition to crafting more biomes.

  • Canyons - TerraMIL and SolNavy are both vying for control of a hidden transport network extending through a series of canyons.
  • Buildings - A skirmish around an independent surface colony.
  • Cave - TerraMIL and SolNavy skirmish over a smuggler's den hidden in a large subsurface cave.

Fixes and Updates

Update: New ships!


We're happy to announce another update today! You may notice that these have been coming pretty quickly, and we're really proud that we're showing off how you can see an Early Access title evolve. With these updates we keep the core gameplay mechanics we spent painstaking hours polishing and we've been focused on creating new content for players to engage with that gameplay.

This content update introduces another new set of ships! This brings AS+CEND up to nine different vessels which players can use to destroy each other. The new set of ships is based around the Tanker class of vessel frames, a slower, stronger frame with equipment sets designed to lock down an opponent and pound them into submission.

New Content

New Ships
This content update features a new set of ships that have been adapted from a civilian transport vessel and has been designated the OC1-TSL Combat Adapted Tanker Vessel. Like all new vessel sets, these ships all feature a new Super and a new Dash to mix things up during combat.

New Equipment
The new Tanker vessels bring with them fresh new gear for players to bring destruction to the battlefield. We've added the following modules for use with these new frames:
  • Firestorm EBA - An high powered energy beam array that delivers lethal energy damage in a quick, short ranged burst. Beware of it's long recharge time!
  • Arclight RWS - A debilitating railed weapon that disrupts the thruster systems of any vessel it strikes effectively making the victim slower.
  • SentryDet DRF - An explosive drone designed to watch a specific zone. these will strike at any vessel entering an exclusion zone around the ship.

New Content


New Combat Arenas
This content update features the new Mars combat theater. There are three new arenas available for play in our 2v2 Skirmish modes.

  • Cave - TerraMIL and SolNavy skirmish over a smuggler's den hidden in a large subsurface cave.

Updates

  • Refined the facing turn logic to make for a more consistent turn feel. It now accounts for the initial turn intent and won't allow the ship to snap in a different direction if you happen to end up swiping a bit off your intended swipe axis.
  • UX layout and scaling adjusted to work on 21:9 setups.

Fixes

  • Collider fixes for 1v1 arenas.
  • Removed a bug where you could dash through spawn room doors sometimes.
  • Removed a bug where mouse movement would get ignored if a controller was plugged in and then used.

About This Game


AS+CEND is a space shooter where you pilot powerful combat ships in ferocious clashes against other players in a fully 3D environment. Fight in complex arenas with six degrees of freedom using different ships, weapons and abilities. Each match in AS+CEND is a deliberate battle of deadly intent that can quickly become a frantic fight for you life, or resolve into a satisfying kill when all goes according to plan.


Think in all directions! Each side of an AS+CEND ship has a shield which protects you from attacks from that direction. Some of these facings also have weapons mounted. Attacking with these weapons will let you strip the shields from you enemies, but it will also drop the shields on that side. Claim victory by exposing your opponent's hull while protecting your own weaknesses.


We're working hard to bring more tools of destruction to the table. New ship frames will offer different movement styles and ultimate abilities to confound your enemies. New weapons will impose a variety of deadly threats in your conflicts. New abilities will create more opportunities for you to trick your opponents.

Regularly Updated Content

Ship Frames
We plan to introduce new ship frames each with a unique layout of equipment slots, movement power and ultimate ability.

Weapon Modules
We're going to regularly add new weapons to the existing weapon types as well as introduce brand new archetypes.

Ability Modules
We'll be adding new and interesting abilities to the game to mix up the combat formula and keep fights from getting too comfortable.

Combat Arenas
We'll be developing more maps, generally timed against other major feature releases. Maps will be introduced in sets of combat arena that are all similarly themed and will be used in most of the game modes.

Upcoming Features

Patrols
Patrols are single player activities designed for players who want to challenge their combat skills but don't have the time or desire to compete directly against other players. This game mode will features progression and randomization for a different challenge each run!

Battles
Battles will be 3 vs 3 matches that will give players the chance to emphasize their teamplay in more goal-oriented game modes.

Customization
Everything from cosmetics to custom ship layouts, we're planning on allow players to tailor their equipment to their own desired play style.

Ranked Play
We're planning on having seasonal ranked options for players who wish to play with and against similar skilled players and challenge themselves to rise through the ranks.
