What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to make our game available in early access so that players can test the mechanics currently implemented in the game and submit their comments and observations on the way they work and any changes they would like to see in the final product. The opinion of the players will be very important when deciding in which direction we want to go creating our product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The early access phase will take several months. We want the final product to be compatible with what players expect”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the early access version, players will receive fewer game modes than the one planned. Our game is a simulator, so in the full version we want to put a lot of vehicles that players will be able to work on. In the early access will be only a few, which will allow you to familiarize yourself with the gameplay.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is still at the production and many things are added and improved practically every day. At the present moment, we are improving the vehicle repair system, which allows players to spread the rover to the smallest parts. We also prepare a workbenches that will allow the repair and reassembly of individual parts”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not know yet what will be the final price of the finished game after the end of early access. Most likely, it will not change, however, much depends on how much content we will add to the game during its duration.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players will be able to express their opinion on the game in the comments on the product page on Steam. In addition, we have a Discord channel on which players can submit any comments and suggestions about the game.”

Devlog #9: Sojourner Rover

Dear Martians!

Sojourner is the Mars Pathfinder robotic rover that explored the Martian terrain. It is equipped with large main antenna, APXS and three cameras: two monochrome in front, and a color one in the rear. Delicate components, such as electronics, are housed inside the WEB (Warm Electronic Box).

Front cameras - monochrome camera/laser system that is located on the front of the rover, used to provide images for stereoscopy and measurements.

APXS (Alpha-Particle X-Ray Spectrometer) - instrument used to analyze the rock composition and other surface materials.

Rear camera - color camera that is located on the aft part near the APXS, used to provide spectral information while imaging the APXS target area, rover tracks, and terrain.

WEB (Warm Electronic Box) - "warm box" designed to protect microver’s electronics.

The microrover is a 6-wheeled vehicle with a Rocker-bogie mobility system, that allows the rover to climb over obstacles. Each wheel has its own drive and steering actuators, which control movement and direction.

Devlog #8: The Rover's Antennas

Dear Martians!

In today's post we would like you to get familiar with Spirit and Opportunity’s antennas that serve as rover’s "voice" and "ears". The rover is equipped with a low-gain and high-gain antenna as well as an UHF antenna that are mounted on the equipment deck.

The low-gain antenna is a long-range antenna that can transmit and receive information in almost every direction. The antenna sends radio waves at a low rate to the Deep Space Network (DSN) antennas on Earth.

The high-gain antenna is a long-range antenna that has a capability to transmit an information in a specific direction. The antenna is steerable and can move to point itself directly to Deep Space Network (DSN) antennas.

The UHF antenna (ultra-high frequency antenna) is a close-range antenna that is used to communicate with Earth through NASA's orbiters around Mars. One UHF antenna is mounted on the rover and one is on the petal of the lander.

The antennas are a complicated devices that have many tiny elements. These components can be damaged and in that case the antennas won't work properly. Mars rovers without its "ears" and "voice" can't perform their tasks well, so you'll have to repair broken elements.

Rover Mechanic Simulator is a game in which you are a mechanic working on one of the first Martian colonies. Your main tasks include the repair and maintenance of Mars rovers, so that the remaining crew can collect detailed information about the structure of the planet by using them.

There are many devices at your disposal that will allow you to dismantle and maintain even the smallest parts of the rover. Use different tools such as a screwdriver, compressor, soldering iron, 3D printer and many more. In the later stages of the game, you'll be able to upgrade them, making your work even more enjoyable and effective.

Not all parts need to be replaced in its entirety. You can use special workbenches that can be used to restore damaged IC's and clean and maintain parts that have worn out during rover's work. Thanks to this you can save resources for much more difficult tasks.

Use various devices which will help you prepare the rovers for the repair process. But be careful, their design is very delicate and hasty decisions can increase damage to fragile scientific instruments, which will require more time and resources to complete the job.

There are many devices on Mars which served people in the past but broke down at some point. You can fix and restore them to service. Thanks to you they can continue to perform their tasks by sending specialized information about the composition of the planet. "Spirit", "Opportunity" and others have served people for years and they can still do it!

Gain experience, earn higher and higher ranks and undertake more and more difficult tasks. The future of humanity on Mars rests on your shoulders!
