What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We love Bullet Hell games. Games such as Enter the Gungeon or Nuclear Throne. So we started developing our own interpretation of the genre. We had some ideas and added some twists to the formula like the masks. Slowly To Hell with Hell shaped up.

We have now reached a status where we would like to open up the game to the players to get feedback from the outside. For players, Early Access is an opportunity to get access to new content as early as possible and to further support development of To Hell with Hell. For us, it’s also a great source of feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently plan to stay in Early Access for roughly one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will contain more content. Which basically translates into more enemies, weapons and all the cool things. We will use the feedback from the players to improve the gameplay and especially the balancing. We're also still working on the story of the game, although that is more or less a side-thing as To Hell with Hell is a Bullet Hell type of game in the end.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“To Hell with Hell is currently in alpha state. It is not yet feature or content complete. It is possible to play through the game once but many features are still missing. The story is not yet fully included and the progression system is still missing.

Currently there are three different worlds in the game but we plan to create more. There are already lots of weapons to try out, the balancing however may change during the development process. Same is valid for enemies.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. And yes. Maybe. We don't think so. We plan to keep the price as it is but if the feedback from the audience clearly tells us that we ruined the pricing, we'll most likely change it during the process.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are actively scanning the steam forums but we're also active on Twitter and Facebook. Interested users can also join the official Discord Server and discuss To Hell with Hell with us and others.

We'll use the Steam Forums to prioritize the future development. We'll set up lists and share our product
Together with the community we also want to prioritize the development tasks: Which features should be included next? We also want to develop the balancing together with the players.

We hope but can not guarantee yet to setup DevStreams via Twitch soon as well.”

What's cooking in Hell? #2

Greetings everyone!

We just realized we haven't posted too much recently and that we definitely need to change that. The important news is: Development hasn't stopped at all and we're quite busy working on new stuff. Right now we are working on a fresh update for November.

It is quite hard to predict when the update will launch, but November is set for the next update and will contain fresh content. It won't be too much about features this time (as we brought the shop early and twisted our own scheduele for that a bit) but more about fresh enemies and a new biome.

In the coming weeks we'll reveal a bit more on this.

Until then, keep killing some demons :)

To Hell with Hell: Greed Update released!

The time has come. Hell is back. The demons are back. Asmodius needs your help once again. Or, in other words: One of the circles of hell has been finished: Greed is done and now available. Wait, what are we talking about? Well: Since the release of To hell with Hell we’ve been super busy, working on the first major update for the game. And it’s ready now. And the update has the name “Greed”. For a reason. It is all about greed this time, cause you will need to become greedy to get enough currency to buy yourself some cool new stuff!

New Weapons
The most obvious change: Fresh weapons. Need a lipstick? Or want to bring on the cham-pain? Everything is possible and for those who already fell in love with the unicorn, let us tell you that To Hell with Hell became even more weird!

New enemies
Of course. No update can be released without some fresh targets for your new weapons, right? And trust us, these new enemies are kinda spooky this time.

Welcome. To. The. Mall!
Okay. It is no mall but a shop. And with that shop, a lot of new mechanics have been implemented into To Hell with Hell.
  • You can buy a chance that certain weapons will drop in the game
  • You can sell masks in the shop now
  • And you can of course sell weapons, too
  • You can also buy potions in the shop which influence the whole gameplay and are bound to certain new achievements. For a reason.
  • Enemies drop currency (souls) now which is persistent
  • Added a slotmachine for some… fun
  • New portal which directs you to the shop

New Perks & a new mask
We have added three new perks for your playthrough, allowing you to pick new strategies. And of course we have added a new mask. The Psych is now a thing for To Hell with Hell.

Some additional changes
  • Incrased Bullet speed
  • Increased enemies speed
  • Increased player speed
  • All meele weapon can reflect bullets now
  • Increased the time till drops disappear
  • Weapon ammo reduced by 20%
  • Nerfed Banana weapon
  • Items start blinking before they disappear
  • Various gamepad fixes
  • Added gamepad setup
  • Added new achievements based on the potions
Boss changes
  • Added new attacks for first boss on further playthroughs
  • Added new attacks for second boss on further playtghroughs
We’ve been working hard on improving the game and have implemented tons of small fixes as well. But the core feature for greed is of course the shop system. Let us know what you think, let us know how you like the potions. And let us know how you like all the new stuff we’ve been throwing into the new build.

To celebrate todays update, To Hell with Hell is 30% off for one week, also to convince some new players of course (to get some additional feedback from fresh meat so to speak).

“I suck at To Hell with Hell. But the good news is, I'm really enjoying sucking at it.”

About This Game

Apocalypse has arrived. And you are going to hell. Not because Natasia has been a bad girl, which she has been for sure. But because Asmodius, ruler of hell himself is calling. And he needs your help, as he got locked away by his enemies. There’s only one credo now: To hell with hell and the gruesome creatures it spit out! To Hell with Hell throws you, the last loyal child of Asmodius into a fight you can hardly win. In a classic Bullet Hell rogue-like crawler with unicorns and bananas you’ll survive deadly traps and fight dozens and dozens of mad demonic enemies.

It’s Showtime: Are you going to despair, because you are just a mortal weakling, a common human being? Well, that ain’t a Problem! Take a mask and become whomever you want to be. You can transform into a Knight, a Demon or even a Clown - the choice shall be yours. In “To Hell with Hell” masks define your skills and you can combine them as you want.

Chose. Your. Weapon: To shovel or to mortar, that's the question here. End the lives of your enemies your way. Take your Sword or your Pumpgun - it is up to you. How will you defeat the demonic mobs? Slice them, blast them - make it their worst day in hell!

Hell is not the end of the road: Wait until hell has frozen over? That’s indeed a possibility here, cause there are more places than the heated home of the demons. And once you’ve reached the frosty caves, your journey will be far from over!
