What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Considering the goals of the project and the additional time we will need to fully realize them, it makes sense for us to allow our community to help us work through the process and ensure we are keeping actual gamers in mind.

As the ability to add game modes and features continues to grow we would like an active player base to test them against. We think overall this will result in a better consumer focused product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are anticipating for Exfil to remain in Early Access until late 2024”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, we are anticipating a wider variety of maps and eventually game modes. Furthermore, we aim to develop dedicated servers and other features based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently Exfil is in a stage where the current 3 maps can be played in multiplayer. One player will need to host the game locally.

There is a large variety of features already complete and the game is very playable.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We would anticipate an increase in the price of approximately 25% once the project is complete and successful and exiting early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have opened a discord to gather direct feedback and bug reports to improve the game, available at the address https://discord.gg/xG5GVKQ.”

About This Game

EXFIL is a tactical first person extraction shooter which aims to provide gamers with a flexible environment wrapped in a proven core game mode. We want to be sure we are providing value up front to gamers while also laying out a road map of how we intend to evolve the product.

Over the course of early access we hope to tap into the desires of our players base to be able to create new experiences and give them the tools and options to really think outside of the box and create new game modes, scenarios and experiences. This could extend from multi team PvP into PvE experiences and all the way back to Co-op gaming which inspired many of the early military genre gamers through titles like NovaLogics Delta force series, Operation flashpoint and other classics.

Our first early access version of Exfil centers around a game configuration where up to 4 factions can compete in an extraction style game mode. We believe this gives a good representation of our core mechanics and an example of our style of gameplay. We also believe this shows our competence as developers and customers can see we know what we are doing and are able to deliver. Two common downfalls of early access games.

We are all small team with the founder having worked on the project for several years and only recently adding help in mapping and marketing over the past few months. On top of that we have a few helpers here and there and the wonderful gaming dev community.

Early access gives us a chance to bring on more resources and accelerate the wanted features list. We are anticipating being able to add few new

Exfil Game Mode

This extraction style mode offers you a variety of tactical decisions and 2 paths to victory. We hope you enjoy this initial layout and gamemode and it gives players a taste of what Exfil can provide.

This version can be locally hosted and a single round consists of each team spawning at a random location then using their GPS to pin point the location of a downed helicopter. Teams then have a choice to hurry toward the helicopter to secure the intel and extract from the map or setup blocking and ambush maneuvers to intercept the intel once retrieved or attempt to eliminate all other factions on the map.

As a team that is self funded we are able to continuously work on new features regardless of the steam revenue. Over the next 12-18 months our goal is to work with the community to expand the tool set eventually into scenario creation. In the meantime some "coming soon" features include but are not limited to..

NPCs

- We are eager to add NPC as a local opposition force that gamers can encounter in the world.

Localizations

We have already begun localizing the game in several of the most in demand languages for FPS gaming including but not limited to Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Spanish, Filipino, German and French.

Slot inventory

- Allowing a more build your own adventure approach to kits and roles we would like to open up a slot based inventory configurable in round via an Armory or similar loadout mechanic.

Server naming and searching

- High priority improvement to easy searching and connecting with hosts.

Round stats

- End of round stat tracking for a detailed breakdown of how the round went.

Global Stats tracking

- One of our long term complimentary goals. We would like to give players a historical dashboard of their gameplay. Tracking things like preferred weapon, faction, gamemode as well hit % and other geeky milsim stats.

Frozen water in Winter conditions

Just what it says.. deep of winter.. rivers and lakes should be largely frozen.

Admin abilities

(control round conditions, Spawn NPCs etc)
