What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We would love to have your feedback! We're dedicated to making the smoothest, most acrobatic, flow inducing arcade-style VR experiences we can, and we really want to hear from you about what's fun, what feels great, and what we can do to make it better!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We would like to be ready for the full release during the second quarter of 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on adding more hazard layouts, additional art, a set of toggleable options to customize the core gameplay experience, support for Steam Achievements, and refinements based on your feedback. We plan to introduce support for Windows Mixed Reality headsets before the final release as well.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version features both natural locomotion and trackpad locomotion movement styles, and has all of the systems in place for responsive running, jumping, wall-grinding, and wall-jumping. The infinite track generation system is fully functional and supports a complete arcade gameplay experience. Art and music reaction are in an early state and evolving. The game is ready for players to jump in and have a fun arcade experience, and polished enough for competitive players to legitimately hone their skills against a satisfying challenge worthy of mastery.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We appreciate your willingness to check out our game and offer feedback while it is in early access, so the early access release is priced lower than the final game will be.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Your feedback is the major reason why we are doing this launch in early access. We want to craft the most engaging, hypnotic, fluid arcade infinite runner that we can, and we want your input regularly as we travel along that path. Please communicate your thoughts, concerns or any bugs that you encounter on our Steam community forums or directly by email to earlyaccess@manicmachinegames.com. We want to hear from you, and hope to refine this game into something incredible for you.”

About This Game

Run, jump and wall-grind through an infinitely-generated track in VR! Dodge hazards and collect rings using intuitive natural physical movements, surrounded by a surreal pulsating neon world that reacts to whatever music you're listening to! (Run to the in-game music or play your own from any other music source on your PC and the environment responds.)

Ludicrous Speed is an arcade-style infinite runner that employs a dynamic physical movement system along with parallel trackpad or thumbstick-based controls, allowing you to discover your own natural style of moving and propel yourself through its infinitely-generated track - collecting rings, dodging hazards, and setting new records.

Features

  • Hypnotic infinite running with smooth and precise locomotion using natural skate movements or the trackpad. Run, jump, wall-grind, and wall-jump, while collecting the golden rings and avoiding hazards.
  • The environment reacts to your music. Put on any music you love, from any local source on your PC, and the world responds, or run to the music built-into the game.
  • Procedurally generated track! Run through five different environments, each with unique hazards, procedurally generated from hand crafted chunks designed to challenge your skills.
