Why Early Access?

“Fightworld started with the idea of what if we could take the experience of playing a party game with your friends on the couch to the online world. With this in mind, we knew that we had to create a game with unique core mechanics that we then could build tons of party like game modes upon. We believe that we now have these core mechanics ready, and now we want to open the gates and work together with the community to shape the game before things become set in stone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our target is to not be in early access any longer than a year, this would lead to a release by the end of 2021. But at the same time, we want to see where the community plays the game, if we find out the there are huge parts we need to change we want to use the flexibility of early access to mold Fightworld to the best experience possible which could lead to an additional year in early access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version has the core building blocks of the game. But we feel that a lot is missing. In the full version we are planning to have:

• A wider range of game modes with a lot of inspiration from game shows and other party games.
  
• Meaningful progression systems.
  
• More weapon classes.
  
• Living dynamic levels where the environment and players affect the layout of the level.
  
• More lively characters through the help of more animations.
  
• A wider set of character skins to help players express themself more.
  
• Updated and improved sound FX.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version is a fully playable online experience. At the start of early access, Fightworld will contain:

• 5 unique maps.
  
• 4 different weapon classes.
  
• 4 different power-ups.
  
• 4 different game modes.
  
• Basic character customization.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the game is planned to always be free-to-play including after early access. We might add expansions to the game at a fixed price but still leaving the core game free to enjoy.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our goal is to make the interaction with the community as frictionless and rewarding as possible. To accomplish that we have created a system in which players can connect their Fightworld account to our Discord channel. Players will receive rewards in the game for being active in the community, giving feature suggestions, and finding bugs. We will also of course post detailed updates of changes, describing why and how we are doing them to give the community better insight into what is happening.”
