What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“-NavalArt began as a one-person project and has grown into today's naval sandbox with the support of its community. The ambition has always been to make it the best in its class: a game where you can freely design your own warships, take them to sea, and bring them into battle.

-Early Access lets us keep expanding the game while using player creations and feedback to improve shipbuilding, physics, and combat.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“-We are currently targeting a full release in 2027. The timing will depend on progress with campaign content, refinement of existing systems, and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“-We are expecting the full version to be much more improved, with the addition of:
-improved UI and user controls,
-Steam-based multiplayer(Done),
-More available equipment,
-More maps,
-Historic Campaigns(WIP),
-More gameplay, like aircraft carriers(Done)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“-NavalArt already offers extensive shipbuilding and naval combat:

• Shape hulls, arrange armor and weapons, and recreate historical warships or invent your own.
• Put your designs through sea trials, Quick Battles, Operations, and Career Mode.
• Fight with naval guns, torpedoes, missiles, and carrier aircraft, with carrier, submarine, and anti-submarine gameplay.
• Join online PvP and cooperative missions, or use the Steam Workshop to download ships, install mods, and share your creations.
• Sail through changing weather and day-night cycles with real-time ship physics, and explore your fleet up close.

Campaign content is still expanding, and existing systems continue to improve, but the core experience of building, testing, and fighting with your own warships is already in place.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“-We plan to increase the price as development progresses and content expands. Please base your purchase on what the current version offers.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“-We gather feedback through Steam Discussions, Discord, and public test branches, and share progress through update announcements. Many improvements begin with something a player brings us—whether it is a warship that pushes the building tools to their limits or a suggestion that makes everyday controls feel better.

About This Game

-Join our Discord channel to give feedback, download mods and learn about upcoming updates! Let’s make NavalArt more enjoyable, together!

-Building NavalArt is a true labor of love. As an indie dev, my vision was simple but massive: to craft the definitive PC naval sandbox. It's been a long voyage since our 2018 Early Access launch, and I couldn't have weathered it without the phenomenal support of this community. Every piece of your feedback has shaped the hull of this game. Thank you for believing in this project. I'll always welcome your thoughts in the Steam discussions as we continue to perfect the experience.

Game Description:

-NavalArt is a sandbox game that combines design, construction, physics, and combat, offering players a variety of experience in different stages. Players will play as designer, engineer, and commander, respectively, and guide their fleets through the ages of steel and nerve.

Gameplay

-As a player, you will construct your warships in the dock using parts offered by the game or the modding community, carefully placing and adjusting them with an incredibly high degree of freedom to shape every detail, from the overall hull to the smallest anchor chain. You can also modify existing ships or build your own warships from scratch.

-Each property is critical to your design, as different armor & weapon layouts will have different effects. Take your unfinished/newly finished ships for trials, and see if it is satisfactory.

-In Quick Battles and Operations, utilize a vast arsenal of weapons spanning from the 19th to the 21st century—including naval guns, torpedoes, carrier-based aircraft, missiles, and more—to annihilate your enemies, complete missions, and claim victory.

-Arm your ship with Anti-Air weapons, including Phalanx CIWS, try to survive in the test scene after several waves of air strikes!

-Experience unique RTS-style Aircraft Carrier gameplay, where altitude is a crucial resource for your warplanes. Configure your squadrons, assign specializations, seize air superiority, and launch devastating aerial strikes against the enemy fleet.

-Walk around your ships as a fellow sailor in Gallery Mode, lineup your fleet and enjoy the parade from your flagship!

-Not in the mood of designing ships? Want more parts to use in the game? Don't forget to visit NavalArt's Steam Workshop to get thousands of warship designs and mods!
