What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to involve the community strongly in the development process of Tiny Tanks. The game should improve through the feedback of the players in the early access period and adapt to the wishes of the community. Above all, it is important to us to perfect the online multiplayer together with the community.

We are currently preparing for the launch and are testing the online multiplayer together with the community. Since our team consists of only two developers, community feedback is essential to find and fix all bugs.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Tiny Tanks is scheduled to complete the early access phase between spring and summer 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

  • Level editor
  • More maps
  • Unique maps (for example: factory, city, scrap yard, etc.)
  • Many new game modes and modifiers for even more crazy combinations
  • New unique tank parts
  • Twitch and Discord integration

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

  • 12 maps that adapt to the number of players
  • 7 Game modes and 7 Modifiers which can be combined freely
  • 33 unique tank components
  • Online and offline multiplayer
  • progress system

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported our game from the beginning by offering the Early Access version of the game at a lower price. Furthermore, the game will offer many new features and a lot of new content on full release, which will also change the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have been working with our community since the beginning of development. That's why we set up a Discord Server some time ago, where we take the feedback and wishes of each individual to heart and participate actively in the discussions every day. We want to maintain this throughout the entire Early Access period and always work with our community!

Hello everyone,
we have been very busy with collecting all your feedback and fixing issues in the game. Today we are releasing another big patch with many additions and fixes. Please read the detailed report below. There were a number of patches before this, but we thought it would be a good idea to include all the changes that happened since the last official announcement on April 14th, 2019. Here is the full list of things that have changed since then:

Changes, Fixes, and Improvements

  • Fixed a bug where the plateau icon in the editor was tinted red
  • Fixed a bug where the grid-snapping in the editor would not work correctly with keyboard/mouse controls
  • Fixed a bug where the community map browser would offer the option to limit the time-frame when sorting by newest maps
  • Fixed a bug where pressing escape would not leave the editor menu correctly
  • Fixed a bug in the editor where you could only spawn new blocks after switching the block type when creating a new map
  • Fixed the splash-screen message for languages with special fonts
  • Fixed a bug where players could not toggle the controls panel with the keyboard
  • Fixed a bug where parts of the controller recommendation screen were not translated

  • Improved the showing time of the driving mode message in the tutorial from 20 to 15 seconds
  • Improved the showing time of the toggle message in the tutorial from 7 to 15 seconds
  • Improved the keyboard/mouse icon for using the fill-tool

What's next
  • We want to start researching bots soon, as it is one of the most requested features at the moment. This will take time though and we can not give any ETA on this right now
  • We want to improve game modes based on your feedback and get a few game modes we currently are still working on in the game
  • We want to improve performance a lot. There are many potential optimizations we can do

We hope that you are enjoying the game so far and want to thank you for all your support and feedback. Please keep it coming! :)

Kind regards,
Jannik & Lukas

Hotfix #1 is live!

Hello everyone,
for the past days, we have been hard at work to get the first big issues fixed and your feedback implemented. First of all, we want to say sorry for all the issues that you encountered, but this is our first game and we are extremely grateful for every piece of feedback! Thank you so much for that.

Without further ado, here are the main things that changed for this update:
  • Added 6 new bigger maps
  • Added disconnect messages for online multiplayer
  • Added support for using a single controller and keyboard/mouse in a local match
  • Added a new section in the tutorial for the two driving modes
  • Added additional support for controllers, including the Steam controller (This limits the game to four players; however, you can still play with up to eight players by switching to the 8-player-local branch under the game settings in your library.)

  • Removed the two smallest maps from official and uploaded them to the workshop
  • Removed the game mode „Super Laser“ due to performance issues temporarily
  • Reworked the Lobby. Now there should be way fewer issues with setting up a game and the rework should get rid of the endless loading screen issues. Additionally, the loading times should have improved. This means that a few functions are disabled right now, including playing custom maps and selecting game modes, but these will be added back in very soon! This rework also enables us to later implement proper matchmaking which can be expected to be added soon.

  • Fixed the Czech translation
  • Fixed the cancel button on the lobby password dialog

Thank you to everyone who has bought the game and given us feedback. We really rely on your help to make this game better and are extremely thankful that you are helping us so much. The next update is already in the works and we hope to get it to you soon!

Thank you,
Jannik & Lukas

About This Game

Tiny Tanks is an multiplayer game with toy tanks that blow each other up in a completely destructible arena. With hundreds of game modes and modifier combinations, each round is different.

You can blow up the whole map with your mines. Burry your friends below huge piles of debris or make the plummet into the depths of defeat with your cleverly placed explosives. You can blow up the whole map!

To keep things interesting there are regular air-drops with gun crates. Each containing a different weapon. Pick 'em up and get going. Who is going to stop you when you are shooting with homing missiles.

Each round is made up of two substantial parts: A Game Mode and up to three Modifiers.
The game mode defines the goals of the round. Instead of shooting each other you might have to hide under a moving dome, to not get hit by explosives.
To add more fun to the equation you can spice up every game mode with a huge variety of modifiers. Snow, darkness, low gravity. You name it.

You can build your own tank from 33 unique tank parts. Not only does your tank look different now, but it even drives different!

With our integrated level editor, you can build your own maps. Thanks to the Steam Workshop integration you can share your creations with the whole world and play your maps in the online multiplayer!

Get new ranks, unlock new maps, modes, modifiers, and tank parts as you go.
