What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have great plans for PowerBeatsVR and believe that the best way to develop an amazing game is by listening to the community and aligning the development accordingly. The feedback we got from early-stage players was so valuable that we decided to take this to the next level with Early Access. It will help in making PowerBeatsVR the best and most enjoyable VR fitness game it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It depends to a large extent on the reception of the game. The more people crave for more, the more content and features we will certainly add. Right now, we want to move out of Early Access with a polished game before Q4 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More content will be the focus of our work with the priorities set by the community. We’d like to implement the following:
  • More songs & challenges
  • Stamina (endurance) mode
  • Additional environments
  • "Friends" leaderboards
  • Party mode

Visit our Development Roadmap on Trello to see all planned features and what we are currently working on.

Plans may change over time, as we are in Early Access for a reason and the community feedback will play an important role during further development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We believe that PowerBeatsVR, even as Early Access, is already amongst the best rhythm-based VR fitness games featuring state-of-the-art technology, and is capable of providing hours of enjoyable entertainment and effective VR workouts as single-player experience at home or in VR arcades.

PowerBeatsVR today features a nicely working gameplay experience which includes:
  • 13 official songs of vastly different genres
  • Automated beatmap generation for custom songs
  • VR level editor
  • 3 difficulties
  • Automatic playspace scaling
  • Fine-adjustable player height
  • 4 weapons with different playstyles
  • 3 virtual arenas
  • Worldwide leaderboards
  • Calorie tracking
  • Heart rate monitor support
  • Avatar system
  • LIV Mixed Reality support

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change during Early Access. We may raise the price for the full release, depending on the amount of content added during development. However, our goal is always to provide great value for our players.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Listening and responding to our community will be pivotal. We will discuss new features with our community as they are developed and encourage everyone to give us feedback and to report issues.

Also, feel free to send us your content ideas of what you would like to see in a future version of the game. You can contact us via the Steam forum, or our Discord Channel. We would love to meet you there.

We also love reviews and comments, so please leave them on the Steam Store. We’ll search social media for videos, reviews, and comments and feature them on our channels.”

PowerBeatsVR is an adrenaline-pumping, rhythm-based VR fitness game.

This game is intense like no other. It will let you move, squat, sidestep and leap around obstacles in ways you haven’t done before.

Move with the beat as you punch your way through challenging obstacle courses in several virtual arenas. Shatter incoming boulders into satisfying pieces and see those calories burn.

The stronger you hit, the more you move, the more points you get. Have fun while training your agility, stamina, strength, and reflexes.

Experience intense VR workouts on higher levels of difficulty. Or choose the easier modes and just enjoy smashing stuff to the beat of a diverse and energetic soundtrack. In any case, there is a leaderboard waiting for you.

Will you take on that challenge?

  • Handmade Official Beatmaps: Every challenge perfectly fits the underlying song.
  • Auto-Generator For Your Own Music: Play with any music you like and how you like it. Want less squatting and more dodging? Just change the settings.
  • VR Level Editor: Create your own challenges from scratch, edit auto-generated beatmaps, or import and play beatmaps from other players.
  • 3 Difficulties: No matter your skill, there is a suitable challenge. Work your way up or directly launch the Expert mode and handle an insane amount of targets and obstacles.
  • For Any Player Height: The game properly scales to your set height, no matter what.
  • 4 Unique Weapons: Start with your fists and unlock further weapons as you play.
  • Calorie Tracking: See how many calories you have burnt over time and set your own goals.
  • Heart Rate Monitor Support: Check your heart rate in-game with ANT+ or Bluetooth HRMs.
  • Avatar System: Show off your performance with built-in avatars.
  • Leaderboards: Get to the top of the leaderboards and become number one.
