What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While most of the features of n0d3::Exodus will be completed by the time the game reaches the market, I have not had the chance to test across multiple devices or with a large player-base.

The main purpose of releasing in Early Access is to ensure I have eliminated all critical bugs present within the game before a full release.

There are also plans for adding more assets including (but not limited to) maps, items, weapons, building materials and attachments into the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in the Early Access state until any and all game breaking issues/exploits have been resolved. After we have passed that stage, the game will be considered complete.
I will continue to update the game as necessary, but updates will become less frequent as time goes on.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“n0d3::Exodus currently contains all planned features for its initial release, but I am constantly coming up with new ideas and features to add to the game. The current issues are a priority, but it is possible to see some of those features sneak their way into updates. It is likely that you also could experience bugs that can make gameplay unstable, but it is unlikely that you will encounter crashes or game breaking issues.

The user interfaces (including the hints/tips system) are still a work in progress as well. All of the critical features are explained in the Tutorial in the Main Menu, but it is not the prettiest looking tutorial. Other special actions might only be visible through the in game hints system until their are deemed finished. This might cause some discomfort when trying to learn the game.

Input settings are still experimental as well. To make sure I can support gamepads properly, you will need to use a series of modifier keys (default Z | X | C) to perform certain actions. All main actions can be rebound, but the modifier keys and the special actions that they represent cannot be modified. This is something that will need to be adjusted based on the feedback I receive from alpha participants.

Matchmaking is working, but there are little/no dedicated servers online. This means you will have to host matches which can cause performance issues for lower-end devices.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“By purchasing the game in an Early Access stage you will be getting the game at a reduced price. You will begin to see the price raise slightly until release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I want to do an open development system that includes newsletters as well as video and blog updates. I am currently in the process of purchasing all of the necessary equipment.

I also want to integrate parties and guilds as well as a comprehensive matchmaking system to give users the ability to create and find games suited to their needs.

Forums will be opened shortly after the Early Access release and I will have ESports support coming soon as well!”
