What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Wanted Killer VR is still in development, and we'll be expanding the world and adding new modes. Early Access gives us an amazing opportunity to share our progress with you, the community, and use your suggestions and reviews to increase the quality of the game. Doing it this way, we’re be able to iterate on the feedback we receive throughout development and ensure Wanted Killer VR is a game that truly integrates your ideas.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We have a roadmap laid out for the Early Access period of Wanted Killer VR (see next question). While we believe that we have a fairly accurate schedule for this, we would also like to give ourselves some additional time for the implementation of your feedback and ideas. With this in mind, we aim to have a game that is shaped by both your vision and ours, with all the content planned for version 1.0 by Q2 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We’re still actively designing, brainstorming and, as mentioned above, listening and responding to what you guys are enjoying. Based on our current roadmap, which is not set in stone, you can expect the following features to be added over the course of the game’s development:
  • More single player missions in brand new settings
  • New characters with unique abilities and weapon specialties
  • New enemy types and bosses
  • New challenges
  • Campaign rebalance once all characters are integrated
You can find the detailed roadmap with more information about the new characters, enemies and weapons here.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay of Wanted Killer VR is polished and fun to play. While there are still many more features to be added (see above), the current version already includes the following:
  • Single player campaign with 25+ missions
  • Online co-op
  • Character-based abilities and weapon specialties
  • Different enemy types and bosses
  • Wave-based horde mode
  • RPG elements including loot, player levels and weapon upgrades
  • Tactical teleporting for strategic combat
  • Gun steal mechanic to make use of a variety of unique weapon types, spanning from tesla rifles to flamethrowers
  • Flow-based combo system with skill rating and leaderboards
  • 7 diverse settings: Subway, Skyscrapers, Genetics Lab, Nightfall, Docks, Ship, Warehouse

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“For those joining us on this Early Access ride, we truly appreciate your feedback and trust in us to deliver the best experience possible, so the current price reflects that appreciation. Upon completion of version 1.0, there will be a price increase for non-Early Access players. Having said that, we’re convinced that the game represents excellent value for money, both now and at the new price point.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As we add more content, we’ll be listening closely to your suggestions on what features, weapons or maps you’re most interested in. As stated above in detail, there’s lots of content to come and we’re excited to work together with you to make Wanted Killer VR the best game it can be!”

Teo Update Released

Today, we're happy to announce Update 11 which brings you an all-new playable character! Say hello to Teo, a brawler who is most efficient in close quarter combat, taking out foes with his baton and shotgun. Unlike Ricky and Mia, Teo has the unique ability to also teleport to live enemies, giving him a leg-up in point blank situations.

We also shuffled some missions around and changed the character selection for certain missions. Our goal was to make sure that the playstyle of the character chosen for a certain mission is in tune with the specific layout of the respective map. For example, did we put Teo in more contained maps such as Ship while Mia will be playing in spacious areas such as Skyscraper. While this does affect your level progression, it will have no impact on your player stats such as character or gun levels.

This means that you might end up replaying missions you have already completed before, but they will feel better and much closer to what we want to achieve with the full release. We understand that losing progress can be frustrating, but we're convinced that in the end you will appreciate the improved quality and enjoy the game even more!

On top of that, there are also three new weapons...

...and a new enemy type Grenade Gunner:

As always, you can find the full list of what to find in this update here:
  • Teo - new character, with special "charge" teleport ability and baton
  • Several missions reassigned, reordered and given new voice over intros for all levels (no new audio for Ricky yet)
  • One new mission, for Ricky: "Moonlight Brawl"
  • 3 new shotgun types:
    • "Cobra K" → Acid Thrower Full-Auto Shotgun
    • "Model T-101" → Ice Shotgun with spin-around active reload
    • "Thunderbird" → Crackling "Shock-Gun"
  • New enemy - "Grenade Gunner" (in the new mission, as well as in Horde mode)
  • Balancing and elemental effects pass for all guns
  • Rifle enemies now fire volleys of fast-moving bullets
  • Many new visual effects
  • AI behavior tweaks and improvements
  • Fixed a bug, where In some situations, settings were failing to save
  • Fixed a bug, where players were sometimes able to play missions as the wrong character
  • Fixed a bug, where SMG enemies now pop out of cover for longer
  • General bug fixes

There you have it guys, we really hope you're as excited about the update as we are! :steamhappy: Thanks for all your support and let us know what you think about Teo.

Elemental Update

Today we are bringing you our first update for this year and it's all about peace and nature and... new improved ways of eliminating enemies obviously!

Some weapons and enemies now have an elemental affinity according to the following rule set:
  • Fire weapons (red) deal bonus damage against Ice enemies (blue) and vice versa.
  • Electric weapons (yellow) deal bonus damage against Acid enemies (green) and vice versa.
  • All elemental types are weak against their own color. As an example, shooting a Fire weapon at a Fire enemy means less damage.
  • Armored enemies - some enemies, including all robots, have armor. Rifles as well as Electric and Acid weapons are most effective against these enemy types.
Besides that, the evil corporation Genetic Minds was up to no good once again: Boss Kees van Kloten has been cloned! 😮 His clones are weaker versions of the more powerful boss and now show up in several missions as regular enemies.

As always, you can find the full update list here:
  • Elemental affinity added to enemies and weapons
  • Kees van Kloten appears now as a normal enemy in the game and his tougher version is used in a boss level
  • Mia 2nd hand teleport added
  • New Boss intros added
  • Added item drops
  • Fixed bug where enemies got stuck (Map Subway)
  • General bug fixes and improvements
Enjoy! And remember that already in February we are adding our 3rd playable character to the game (you can check the remaining Early Acces roadmap here). We already played a lot as Teo internally and boy it is fun! 🤩

About This Game

We're a small indie developer with the ambitious goal to create a unique VR shooter that you, the community, will love as much as we do. Being video game enthusiasts ourselves, we’d like to invite you to join us on this endeavor – share your thoughts and suggestions with us and let us together shape this amazing VR experience.

The core of Wanted Killer VR is an innovative movement system called “Tactical Teleport”, which lets you maneuver towards a specific location in bullet-time while all enemies (and their bullets) move in slow-motion. The clue is that teleportation can only be used on enemies momentarily after killing them – this allows for coping with even the most intense situations and a beautiful mix of action and strategy, which we consider the secret sauce of Wanted Killer VR’s gunplay.

In Wanted Killer VR, you play as dual pistol expert Ricky, allrounder Mia, shotgun brawler Teo or master sharpshooter Aya. As you progress through the single player campaign, skill challenges, or wave-based survival mode, a unique brand of teleport system lets you experience player-driven bullet-time-shooting with a twist. Paired with a flow-based combo system that invites you to take out enemies in style, Wanted Killer VR allows for unparalleled strategic combat as you dash between opponents and complete diverse challenges in spectacular settings – including skyscrapers in the clouds, a mysterious genetics lab, and an ever-changing subway station.

Create your very own action sequence and chain together kills using a variety of weapon types – pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers, sniper rifles… they’re all yours! Created to offer visually stunning one-of-a-kind gunplay, you can expect innovative weapons and fluid controls when you unleash vengeance against challenging enemies in diverse and beautiful levels.

FEATURES

Wanted Killer VR is a frenzied first-person shooter that puts you in charge of the WK4: a trigger-happy squad of mercenaries on a mission. Choose which of the crew’s four heroes to play as, and use their teleportation powers and sharpshooting skills to fight your way through the ranks of an organization that wipes out anything – and anyone – messing with their bottom line.

  • Four heroes, four styles: Play your way with a choice of four unique heroes. Unleash dual-pistol damage as Ricky, get up-close and personal with Teo, strike as stealthy assassin Mia or cut loose with machine gun-toting Aya.
  • Tactical teleporting: Take control of your enemies and their weapons with mind-bending teleportation powers. Devise creative attack strategies and leap into VR combat like never before.
  • Locked and loaded: Earn coins for completing challenges, level-up your weapons and pick your perfect loadout to survive an onslaught of deadly enemies and bosses.
  • Hunt down the truth: Fight your way through a stunning VR world – from shadowy subways to wide-open rooftops. Only you have the firepower to complete the campaign and unravel the story behind the evil corporation's scumbag CEO.
  • Flow-based combos: Take out your enemies in style to trigger combo-based scoring rewards. It’s time to unleash every trick in the book!
  • Say it with bullets: Shoot to survive in high-octane, wave-based Skill Trials and test your mettle against a host of different enemy types – from fragile but fast SMG specialists, to flamethrower-wielding brutes.
