Why Early Access?

“This is our first release of a first-person RPG and we want to ensure the player experience is the best it can be. Based on player feedback we may fine-tune various encounters, adjust difficulty and game interaction, expand equipment, skills, crafting and other elements of character development. We would appreciate all the feedback we can get!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We want to be aggressive in setting a launch date for the Full Version of The Gates of Avalon, with a current target of two to three months. This target may move based on player feedback. If we feel we must add features and content, we will take the time to do it. Your feedback is key!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“All the core features listed above are in the Early Access version. We plan to use the Early Access phase to solicit player feedback to make improvements in game mechanics, character development, and the combat experience. The full version of the game will incorporate these improvements plus additional content and features including a basic marketplace for buying and selling items and equipment, support for poisons, and additional equipment, monsters and magic.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the Early Access version of The Gates of Avalon is feature complete. The game play mechanics, combat, quests, crafting, character development and other core features are in and they are solid. For full list of features please go to the "About This Game" section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game will likely be increased after Early Access with the additional content, features, improvements and polish we intend to add the full release version of The Gates of Avalon.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our goal is to create a fun and engaging first person RPG, and community involvement is vital in our Early Access development process. We will be looking for constructive feedback on the current game in addition to suggestions and requests for additional content and features. We will be actively communicating on the Steam forums during Early Access development.”
