What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Chessia, in its current state, has some core features implemented. However, as Chessia Developers Team, we are not done yet and want to add more.

The features we are planning to add:
- Chess 960
- Online Multiplayer
- Steam Achievements”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to release the game fully somewhere between January 2018 - March 2018.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be a smooth experience with some of the existing features improved and some more features added such as online multiplayer. We also plan on adding support for Linux and OSX.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Existing Features
- Single player
- Local multiplayer
- Analyze
- Easily changing chess engine options
- Installing other chess engines (UCI)

Although these features are added, they need polishing and improvement.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be priced the same even after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Getting feedback is very valuable for a small indie team like us. With that said, while we plan on improving and polishing the game, we also want to add features that the community wants.”

0.31b Patch is Live! Arch & Fedora are Supported

Hello Dear Community

This is a small patch that adds support for Arch and Fedora based distributions. It required a lot of testing, hence took a bit of time to finish.

* [Linux] Added support for Fedora and Arch based distributions.
* [Linux] Seperated compilation part of executable to a different file, named "compile_stockfish.sh".
* [Linux] Added instructions in case "compile_stockfish.sh" doesn't work on a specific distribution.
* Small improvements to UI

PLEASE TAKE NOTE, even if your distribution is not supported, you can now follow the instructions given in "compile_stockfish_didnt_work_README.txt" file and play the game.

Until next time, have fun and take care.
