What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early access gives us the best opportunity to get feedback from players which is especially important with a strategy game like ours. We want to make sure we work out all the kinks with balance and set up the game in such a way so that it's easy to play, but difficult to master.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“System Siege will remain in early access for approximately 10 months based on our current feature set, but this may change based on the feedback we get from the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a lot planned for System Siege. Here is the current feature set we hope to add to the game:

  • Different AI difficulties
  • Ranked online multiplayer
  • Full single player campaign
  • A map editor/creator
  • Multiple playable factions with different abilities
  • Cross-play and cross-save across multiple platforms

Now of course, as we start to get feedback from players these features may change, so please buy System Siege only if you want to play it in it's current state.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will start with:
  • Local and Online multiplayer (quick play and invite a friend)
  • First 3 levels of the campaign
  • 1 playable faction with 3 different commanders
  • 6 different unit types
  • 5 multiplayer maps

As time goes on and we complete features we will be updating the game to include them.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Since our game is still in active development we're offering it at a discounted price as an incentive for people to play during early access. Once the game is fully released we will increase the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan on involving the community in our development process every step of the way. We host game play streams and dev streams regularly on Twitch, and post on social media almost daily. We want to make a game that is not only fun for us to play but for YOU to play. If you have any feedback or suggestions please send them to us! We would love to hear what you have to say!”

Dev Update #1

As you may know, we launched System Siege in early access on the 12th of June; hopefully many of you have gotten your hands on it and played it a bit. We are committed to providing updates to the game to make it more enjoyable for you to play, but also so that we can see it reach a more finished state along the lines of what we originally envisioned.

Over the next few months we’ll be working on an update to the game that will add some things that people really want, and things that we’ve heard a bit about since we’ve launched the game.

The biggest piece of feedback we’ve gotten since launching the game, is that there isn’t enough single-player content. So not only are we working to add more missions, we’re also going to be taking a pass at the design of the campaign. We’re hoping to add in more mission objectives, and optional missions that will affect the results of the campaign. We want it to feel like you can choose how you progress through the story, instead of just making it a linear set of missions.

We’re also looking to add in more android commanders and android units. Android units will be completely different from the existing units, and will be available in both single-player and multiplayer.

Lastly, we’ll be adding more tilesets to the game so that you have different environments to play with. Similar to how now we have the earth-like tile set, and the lava planet tileset.

We plan to add the following to multiplayer over the next few months: turn timers, and statistics.

Turn timers are something we knew we had to have in the game if we want multiplayer to be taken seriously. Right now, you can hold onto your turn indefinitely with no penalty. While this isn’t problem when playing with friends, this prevents any sort of competitive matches from being played. We currently plan to set the timer to 2 and a half minutes.

Also, we want to add some sort of progression system to reward players who have played a lot of multiplayer matches. In order to start tracking that information now, we’re going to add in stats. When you win a match or lose a match, the game will keep track of it. We’ll probably also keep track of some other stats as well.

We plan to have all these features completed for Fall 2018. To stay up to date on our progress, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Discord!

About This Game

Negotiations have failed. We tried to destroy the technology we'd spent so long building. Now is the time for action. The ultimate battle for survival rages on between humans and androids. Use your strategies to dominate and destroy in System Siege. Who will be left when the smoke clears, commander?

System Siege is a top-down turn-based strategy game set in the distant future. An homage to the classics, System Siege showcases a diverse range of units and commanders to choose from - know their strengths and dominate.

Choose your commander from a set of three, each bringing a unique advantage to the battlefield.

Featuring a unique soundtrack with a mix of retrowave and rock, the classics live again.

Early Access includes a campaign with three tutorial missions to teach the basics. When you’ve mastered the easy part, join a quick-play multiplayer game and test your mettle or create custom games against AI.
