Evasion KILLSTREAK: Time to Dominate the Leaderboards

Win prizes this weekend by dominating the Evasion KILLSTREAK Virtual Competition! (More details on Archiact's blog.) Think you got what is takes to top the Evasion leaderboards? "What leaderboard?" you ask? In our biggest content update since launch, the KILLSTREAK Update unleashes global leaderboards for Evasion on all platforms! This game changer gives you a whole new way to dominate the virtual battlefield and compete head-to-head with your squad.

Itching to get your score on the board? Killstreaks are the name of the game: rack up a beefy multiplier by outgunning the Optera head-to-head, being the first to bag major kills, and going for every last finishing move you can. Share your videos and screenshots with us on Twitter by tagging us @EvasionVR. Let's see how many points you can rack up against your allies in the Vanguard!

Last but not least, we heard your requests for more locomotion options, and are happy to introduce the all-new "Controller Relative" movement style. Let us know what you think!

Here are the full Update notes:
- Added an all-new arcade scoring system
- Destroying enemies increases score multipliers
- Taking damage resets multipliers
- Added leaderboards for each mission and difficulty setting
- Added Controller Relative movement option, accessible in the Quick Menu

We'll see you on Faro Colony. Stay tuned for some of our February community events by following us on Twitter @EvasionVR and don't forget to show off that score - there are leaderboards for every mission and difficulty level!

New challenges await the Vanguard in Patch 1.03!

The holidays have come early to Evasion, and we're happy to bring some of the highly requested features for the community and new recruits. Last month we addressed those sore trigger fingers by adding some light auto-fire functionality to the player weapons, and we have more in store starting today.

While we were excited to hear that Evasion was accessible to all skill levels, we know there were some members of the Vanguard that wanted to take on a new challenge, and some players that wanted options that best fit their skill level.

We've got you covered.

In the easiest mode the enemy shots deal less damage to the players. This is a pretty forgiving difficulty and is suitable for a brand new player. Some caution is required however, as a reckless player can still be overwhelmed.

This is a fairly challenging fight. Enemy shots are fired with better accuracy and deal full damage. A skilled player will excel.

As the toughest mode, Bullet-Hell requires players to use every ounce of skill they can muster to survive. Enemies lead their shots to hit players that are moving around, and deal extra damage with every hit. Players need to be careful, keep their shields up, and use more cover.

- Added two new achievements to unlock in Bullet-Hell difficulty
- Some gameplay improvements to the Megatoma and Skimmer behaviors
- Mission tuning to support the new difficulty settings
- Some improvements to how enemies react to player tethers
- Increased the Engineer damage
- Engineer can now do a quick flick and release with the Tether Lash to finish the enemy
- Improved the Surgeon self-heal feature when killing an enemy with the Tether Lash
- Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented achievement progress from being saved (unfortunately any unsaved progress can not be recovered)
- General bug fixing and polishing

Happy holidays from the Evasion team to yours!

“It’s wholly possible that Evasion could become the Borderlands of VR; a unique twist on the FPS genre that would most certainly be welcome. […] If the development team can come good on the promise of a deep character evolution system and the promise of varied locomotion alternatives is realised, Evasion could well achieve its goal of becoming a landmark VR FPS title.”
VR Focus

“It’s hard to really communicate why Evasion feels so much more intense than other similar games, but it’s noticeable very quickly. […] Dodging and shooting while physically moving around is super exciting to experience.”
