Ryan Laukat가 제작한 8분 제국(Eight-Minute Empire)은 카드를 사용하여 영토를 다스리는 방식의 문명/탐험 테마를 활용하는 간단한 게임입니다.

8분 제국에서는 2-5명의 플레이어가 제시된 6장의 카드 중에서 차례대로 카드를 선택합니다. 이 카드는 플레이어에게 자원을 제공하고, 플레이어가 즉시 취하는 액션도 포함하고 있습니다. 액션은 플레이어가 지도에서 영토를 차지하는 데 도움이 되지만, 자원을 모으면 게임 마지막에 그만큼 점수를 얻습니다. 따라서 플레이어는 두 측면의 균형을 이루어야 합니다. 플레이어는 지역과 대륙에서 주도권을 차지함으로써 게임 마지막에 점수를 얻기 위해 지도에서 영토를 확장합니다.
