What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Carried Away is an indie game being developed by 3 friends which is in a stable and playable state. We will continue to add additional features, levels, environments and challenges based on community feedback, so now is the time to get involved!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 to 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a large backlog of additional content and features that may or may not make it in to the final version of the game. This backlog is continually being fed by our growing community!

Below is an example of some of the features we have lined up:

  • Way more levels. We will go from 50 levels to over 100 during the course of EA
  • Additional themes (Summer, night skiing, sunrise)
  • Mountain bikers
  • Snowboarders
  • Twitch support
  • Vehicles
  • Bombs
  • More physics driven items
  • More building materials
  • Customisable characters
  • Cable cars
  • Zip wires

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version contains the core features of our game, including chairlifts, drag lifts, gondolas, jumps, bridges and controllable skiers! Our alpha testing community has helped us create over 50 well designed levels in our powerful sandbox tool.

The game is in a playable and enjoyable state, however it is possible that you may encounter some bugs while the game is in Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price when the game is finished.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There's only 3 of us, but we love to listen! Join us on the forums or our Discord channel to have your say on how we take this forward!

Speed Booster Jumps, floating islands, super snow cannons and lots of blood

Greetings! Patch 0b.02 has arrived, so here is a list of all the improvements and additions that we have made it into Carried Away over the last month. Happy Holidays!
We’re open to community feedback, so come and talk to us on the forums, or on our Discord channel!

  • Speed Booster building piece - a Jump piece that will alter the speed of the skier or snowmobile based on the speed that you set it to be.
  • Floating Islands - This is something we have wanted to implement for a while. This allows for more variety of challenges. Choose your path, over or under the mountains!
  • Improved snow cannons - set the speed and the angle of the snow cannons and use them to your advantage.
  • 8 new levels in Mountain 6, ‘The Highlands’!
  • Skiers will now voluntarily jump (or fall) out of chairlifts on your command. Because there wasn’t enough carnage already. The default hotkey is ‘H’
Added a jump button to the UI. This means you no longer have to use WASD if you would rather play the game entirely using your mouse.

  • Gore slider. You can turn the blood off, or increase the levels to extra gorey. Default remains as normal.
  • Night theme added
  • Added lamposts for the night theme
  • Christmas assets - can opt in ot out of seasonal aesthetics in the other menu
  • Added objectives icons to the builder mode to better represent the objectives on each level.
  • Added more steam achievements
  • Improved the Gallery
  • Improved snowmobile and skier behaviour so that they are more predictable and less jumpy
  • Can now play without internet connection
  • Colour blind mode - accessed in the other options menu
Bug fixes
  • Fixed a bug that was causing an error when adjusting the terrain lines in the sandbox
  • Fixed a bug where objects were getting moved from scenery to in front of the ski lift line in the sandbox

About This Game

A skiing themed constructions game packed full of creative challenges and hilarious disasters. Build Chairlifts, Gondolas, and Jumps then guide your skiers and snowmobile drivers across 70+ hazardous levels.

Construct ski lifts, jumps and bridges from a range of materials to transport your passengers through each level. Master the rope physics and the stresses and strains it will put on your constructions. Cutting corners along the way will compromise the safety and comfort of your passengers. When design alone isn't enough, turn to your skiing skills to get that extra nudge towards your destination.

Travel the world's mountains; start in the rolling foothills and journey up to the jagged and exposed peaks. Puzzle over carefully designed scenarios to help skiers reach their destination in a variety of mountain backdrops. Build increasingly impressive structures as you progress through the varied campaign, but keep an eye on your budget!

Create your own puzzles in the easy-to-use level builder where only your imagination is the limit. Customise the puzzle with the slope editor, then bring it to life with the procedural mountain generation tool and your choice of scenery and settings. Combine chairlifts and gondolas in a single level to reach the highest peaks, or construct the terrain park of your dreams to practice your skiing tricks.

Share your proudest and most audacious replays with the community. The inbuilt gif and mp4 exporter makes it easy to share your replays and creations online. Or take to Steam Workshop to test your engineering skills against the rest of the community.
