Why Early Access?

“We want to involve players and receive feedback so that we can plan and implement any necessary changes as early as possible. An MMO requires a lot of testing and balancing, so we want to start building a community slowly before the actual release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We wish to release the game as soon as we think everything is nicely in balance and there's enough content in the game for a full release. We have set a goal to come out of Early Access roughly in December 2018.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game world will constantly expand: New areas to explore, new monsters, quests and items. The game mechanics will be more polished and tweaked according to the feedback during the Early Access. There are tons of features we have planned, but haven't had the time to implement yet. These features are constantly being developed and implemented during the Early Access, and obviously the development will continue after the release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has 2 major areas, each with their unique quests, monsters and resources. Most of the skills are accessible, although some of them are missing content (crafting recipes, resources and abilities). Altogether the content at the moment already adds up to dozens of hours of gameplay if you choose to grind through all the skills, monsters and items.
There are also some occasional outdated graphics and poorly optimized areas, which will be updated during the Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is likely to stay the same during the early access and after release. After release an optional membership subscription is a possibility to fund future development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are planning to actively keep in touch with the community through Steam forums and our Discord server. Progress updates will be shared in our social media (Facebook, Twitter) throughout the Early Access. There will also be a feature in game to report bugs and leave feedback.”

Account system changes
-From now on, an account will be required to log in the game.
-Characters will be grouped in this account. There is now a limit of 3 characters per account.

For old players:
-All of your alternate accounts will be grouped into a single account. Just log in to your main character and follow the instructions.
-If any old alternate character you used to have is now missing from your account, associate it using the "associate character" button.
-If no account was assigned to you automatically, it means you haven't logged in since July 2018 or you might have shared your account with other players. Make a new account and associate your character if this is the case.

Using this new account system should be easy and intuitive, just log in to the game as you would normally do and follow the instructions. These changes fix the alternate account abuse issue and will allow several other improvements.

Gran Skrea is independently-developed by a bunch of monkeys banging on keyboards around the world. It combines a desire for new player-defined MMORPG mechanics with influences from classic RPGs like Runescape, Ultima Online, and The Elder Scrolls. The game features music by New Light Audio.
