About This Game

Stellacore: Mining Odyssey is a fast-paced 2D space shooter and mining hybrid. Take the helm of a nimble starfighter in a frontier mining sector overrun by hostile, block-built machines. Shatter enemies piece by piece, crack asteroids for precious ores, and spend everything you salvage on a deep, branching upgrade tree — then push deeper into the sector.

Your goal: fight, mine, and upgrade your way through 30 hand-tuned stages across three difficulty modes — Easy, Hard, and one-life Permadeath — survive 12 boss battles along the way, and take down the final boss guarding the depths of the sector.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • 30 stages with a steadily rising difficulty curve that mixes enemy types, scales enemy health and damage, and tightens the arena as you go deeper

  • 12 boss battles spaced through the campaign, each with its own attack patterns and weak points, culminating in a final boss showdown with elite escorts

  • Three difficulty modes: Easy, Hard, and one-life Permadeath

  • 5 ore types, each with its own effect on your ship

  • 70+ upgrades across a branching tree: firepower, weapon kits, defense, mining and mobility

  • Four kinds of asteroids — rock, crystal, fire and toxic — plus lightning-charged fields

  • Steam Cloud saves, so your Odyssey continues exactly where you left off

THE CORE LOOP — COMBAT AND MINING ARE ONE

Every enemy you destroy and every asteroid you crack drops the ores you need to grow stronger. The more you risk, the more you mine — and the deeper you go, the more you need. There is no downtime between fighting and earning: shooting, looting, and upgrading are one continuous cycle.

COMBAT — SHATTER BLOCK-BUILT ENEMIES

Every enemy in the sector is assembled from destructible blocks, and each block has its own health — and often its own weapon. A patrol ship may carry a turret block that peppers you from range, a laser block that sweeps a beam across the arena, or a blaster block that fires ring bursts up close. Some enemies now raise their own shields: break them down with dedicated upgrades, or route around them. Tear off the dangerous blocks first to cripple an enemy's arsenal, or aim straight for its core to end the fight quickly.

Enemies move with purpose, too. Expect chasers that hunt you down, dashers that lunge through your line of fire, figure-eight weavers, snaking patrols, spiral divers, and sweeping edge-to-edge runs — each movement style demands a different dodge. Later stages combine enemy types and shrink the arena, turning every screen into a puzzle of angles and priorities.

MINING — CRACK ASTEROIDS BETWEEN THE BULLETS

Asteroid fields drift through the sector packed with extra ore — but mining leaves you exposed. Break them open for bonus resources while dodging enemy fire, and watch out for lightning-charged asteroids that chain deadly arcs across the field and turn a quick mining run into chaos.

FIVE ORES, FIVE REASONS TO KEEP DIGGING

  • Red ore — the backbone of your economy, straight from common rock.

  • Core — the rare prize torn out of enemies and bosses.

  • Blue ore — charges your burst weapon, and can be tuned to refill faster.

  • Yellow ore — triggers a timed damage buff, so grab it before you commit.

  • Green ore — can heal your hull on pickup, if you invest in it.

PROGRESSION — FORGE YOUR OWN ODYSSEY

Everything you salvage feeds a deep, branching upgrade tree with 70+ nodes across five areas:

  • Firepower — bullet damage, fire rate, reload speed, clip size, extra bullets per volley, range, and stacked damage multipliers

  • Weapon kits — mount up to five muzzles, and unlock fan-burst and ring-burst guns with their own damage, speed, radius, pierce and crit nodes

  • Defense — tougher hulls, hull regeneration, brief invincibility windows, shield absorption, and enemy-shield breakers

  • Mining — a wider pickup radius, extra resources from every source, richer ore effects, and asteroid lightning that chains between rocks

  • Mobility — ship speed, smaller hitbox, and a dash you can upgrade for cooldown, distance and invincibility frames

  • Upgrade paths branch and stack, so two players can forge very different ships.

CONTROLS

  • Controls: mouse & keyboard, or a gamepad with twin-stick aiming (right stick to aim).
