About This Game

Deep Outpost is a 2D mining and exploration game where you pilot a submarine, drill through rock, and improve your equipment and bases as you descend into the ocean. Mine ore to upgrade your sub, and venture deeper in search of what remains of the sunken city of Lantern.

Mine ore and upgrade your submarine

Drill through rock and carve a path along seams of ore. Sell your haul to upgrade your drill, battery, hull, and cargo hold. Break through rock that once blocked your path, stay submerged longer, and bring back more ore on each trip.

Gather materials and craft new equipment

Use the research materials and blueprint fragments you find to add new capabilities to your sub. Complete blueprints to craft equipment such as drill heads and boosters. Research upgrades to extend your sonar's range and your safe diving depth, and deploy drones that follow your sub and mine ore.

Build outposts in the depths

Build outposts near the areas you explore to cut down on trips to the surface. Install generators, workshops, laboratories, and storage facilities so you can recharge your battery, service your sub, and prepare for your next expedition nearby. You can also leave ore at a refinery to sell it at a higher price.

Explore seven underwater zones

Explore seven zones, from shallow waters to the depths around hydrothermal vents. Use sonar to find resources and points of interest, and prepare for high water pressure, darkness, and deep-sea creatures. When your battery runs out, your lights and drill shut down. Keep an eye on your remaining power and cargo space to decide whether to mine a little longer or head back to a nearby base.

Uncover Lantern's past

Black boxes in shipwrecks, documents in old mine tunnels, and recordings inside lamps preserve the stories of Lantern’s residents. Follow the locations and signals mentioned in their records, and use power from a nearby base to relight the extinguished lamps. Collect scattered relics and records to discover why this underwater city fell.
