About This Game

Twelve years ago, the sun began to rise over the tower in the far east — and stopped halfway, and sank again. Morning has not come since.

In Harven, a village at the western edge of the world, one ember from that day still burns in the Great Lantern: the last true light left anywhere. On the night it begins to fail, young lantern keeper Erin gathers every last spark into a single torch and sets out east to wake the sun.

One Torch

• Only enemies within the light show their health and their next move. Those in the dark are silhouettes.
  
• Whoever holds the torch gains skills no one else can use — and becomes the enemy's favourite target.
  
• Spend an action to pass the torch to the ally beside you. When, and to whom, can decide the fight.

Your Marching Order Is Your Formation

• Four companions stand in a single line. Every skill can only be used from certain positions and only reaches certain enemies.
  
• Push, pull and swap places to break the enemy line — and keep your own.
  
• Lay marks and detonate them, and unleash Team Skills when two companions stand side by side.

Roads That Divide

• Choose your road at every crossroads. Each path brings different lands, different bosses and different companions, before the roads meet again at the next city.
  
• The road you passed by in Act I can be revisited later to face its boss.
  
• Through ashen wheatfields and birchwood, misty marshes and frozen passes, the salt coast and the ash desert, all the way to the Tower of the Sleeping Sun.

Wistful, Not Grim

• The creatures touched by the Long Night are lost rather than evil. Defeated bosses aren't killed — they return to what they once were.
  
• Stories by the campfire, favours for the villagers you meet, and mighty foes waiting off the beaten path.
  
• Seven companions walk with Erin — four march at a time, and you can swap them at camps and inns.
