Leaving Early Access: 2027

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“ODEZIE is a solo project with a big goal: believable railway operations on real tracks. Whether prices, demand and costs are balanced, and whether the controls are easy to understand, only becomes clear once many people play. Early Access lets your feedback shape the game before the full version is locked in.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access is planned to start in 2027, with the full version following about 12 months later. During that time, at least two major updates will be released: "Operations & Fleet" and "Feature Complete". Your feedback will help decide which features make it into them. After that, we will focus on polish and balancing until version 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version adds more depth to operations: disruptions you have to solve, train compositions made from locomotives and coaches, workshops and maintenance, and staff satisfaction, experience and promotions. It will also include a tutorial, sound effects, achievements and performance improvements for lower-end PCs.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop is fully playable: plan routes on Germany's real railway network, buy trains, create timetables and rotations, schedule your staff and keep an eye on your finances. Save games carry over between updates. Still, expect some rough edges in balancing and usability.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase gradually as development progresses. Early supporters pay less.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We collect bug reports and suggestions in the Steam discussions and on Discord. The roadmap is public, and every update comes with patch notes explaining which feedback made it into the game.”

About This Game

Your rail company. Real tracks.

ODEZIE is a management simulation for anyone who wants to plan a railway, not just ride it. Found a train operating company, buy trains and build a network of regional and long-distance lines – not on a fantasy map, but on Germany's real railway network, built from OpenStreetMap data.

Plan your routes

  • Pick origin, destination and stops from more than 3,500 stations and halts

  • Every route is calculated over real tracks, including platform choice

  • Electric or diesel: electric trains need overhead wire, diesel trains go anywhere

  • Track-access charges depend on line speed – the fastest line isn't always the best

Timetables and rotations

  • Build regular-interval timetables and create the return direction with one click

  • Group trains and let ODEZIE distribute trips across your fleet

  • Empty runs to the next service are planned automatically

  • Follow every train live on the map: if a platform is occupied, it waits or switches track

Staff

  • Hire train crews and plan duties for every day of the week

  • No driver, no train: the trip is cancelled and tickets are refunded

Finances

  • Ticket revenue versus track access, energy, station fees and salaries

  • Reports for every timetable and every day

  • Trains wear out with every kilometre – buy, operate, sell

  • Choose your difficulty when you start a new game

Early Access

ODEZIE is developed together with its community. Planned additions include leasing and loans, economic cycles and energy prices, demand by time of day, holidays and season, operational disruptions, train compositions from locomotives and coaches, workshop visits, and staff experience and promotions. Freight and other European countries will follow after version 1.0.
