About This Game

The archive never closes.

Every morning you raise the shutter, and Abel is already waiting at the counter. He describes someone: where they were born, what their hands look like, what they did. You go down between the shelves and find that person's file.

Most of them are killers. Some of them aren't entirely human.

You never learn what happens to the people you hand over. You only learn what happens when you're wrong.

Every mistake has a name

Hand over the wrong file and the real killer walks free. The next morning a new file is waiting on the shelf: the person they killed. Your pay gets docked, warnings pile up, and Abel grows less polite by the day.

Read closely

Files are incomplete, stained, and sometimes they lie. Switch your flashlight to UV and invisible ink and wiped-away bloodstains come to light. Look at the photos through a magnifier. A tattoo, a scar, a face in the background that shouldn't be there. No menus, no screens: you pick up the file, open it, turn its pages, stamp it.

Something lives behind the back door

It's hungry, and it eats files. The empty ones, the cursed ones. Feed it too little and it starts pounding on the door, then it comes for you. Feed it too much and the door won't hold it. Don't stand close while it eats.

Lower the shutter

It isn't always Abel who comes to the counter. Something dragging behind the walls, a clicking deep in a throat, a light that flickers and dies… Lower the shutter in time and you'll only hear it pounding. Fail, and it gets in.

Lights go out. Pipes burst. At night something gnaws at the shelves. Something sits on the ceiling. Hands that aren't yours rest on your desk. The longer the shift runs, the worse it gets. Coffee, pills and cigarettes only hold your nerves together for so long.
