About This Game

A tiny kingdom that lives around your windows

Little Bastion sits on the edges of your desktop while you work, browse or play. Its walls line the borders of your screen, its town fills the space behind your windows, and raiders march in from the sides.

Start with one wall. Grow to four.

You begin with a single wall and a small Keep. Gather wood, stone and gold, raise the Keep, and new walls open along the other edges of your screen, each in a land of its own.

Once a second wall opens, a train starts running between your walls, carrying each land's goods to the others. Give it a faster engine, more wagons, a mail car, or an armored car that fights raiders as it passes.

Defend every edge

  • Build from 22 kinds of towers, from archer towers and ballistae to fae rings and rift anchors, and choose one of two paths for each as it grows.

  • Raids come on a timer you can see. The horn sounds, the banner counts down, and the battle plays out on its own.

  • Click a raider to smite it. It always helps, and it is never required.

  • Face 24 bosses, each with tricks of its own, and send your heroes out to meet them at the gate.

Build the town your way

Place houses, a tavern, a workshop, a bakery, a windmill and more anywhere in the middle of your desktop. Some buildings help their neighbors, townsfolk go about their day, and the town grows as your Keep does.

Heroes, loot and expeditions

Recruit from 15 hero classes, each with its own special moves and two paths to grow into. Equip them with gear in five rarities and 15 sets, then send them on expeditions across the map to bring back loot, relics and pets.

15 lands, 6 ages

Each wall's land changes how its raids play out. Sandstorms cut your towers' range, high tide brings raiders in by sea, lava vents burst under the road, warp rifts open on the road, and in the deep caves your towers can only fire where it is lit.

Win an age and found the next: the Kingdom of Men, the Elven Court, the Dwarven Holds, the Desert Palace, the Orc Horde and the Long Night. Each has its own Keep, town, train and raiders. Your heroes and legacy carry over, and every age leaves a monument in your town. After the last age, the endless Long Siege begins.

A world that lives

The seasons follow your real calendar, with snow in winter and fairs in spring, at Midsummer, at the harvest and at Midwinter. Night falls at your own local time, the town crier walks the walls, and the bell rings at noon.

Made to sit beside your work

  • While the game is closed, your kingdom keeps gathering at half speed for up to 16 hours (24 with an upgrade). Come back to a harvest waiting at the Keep.

  • Raids hold while you are away from your computer or playing something full screen.

  • Focus mode holds raids and quiets the horn while you work. Raid hours keep raids to the times you choose.

  • When your windows cover it, it stops drawing until you can see it again.

  • Open the Kingdom view to see the whole kingdom in one window, for a second monitor or a stream, and take snapshots to share.
