About This Game

The sky burned for nine nights. One person in a million woke up different. You are one of them.
MANDATE is a story-driven superhero career RPG drawn in gritty pop-noir comic art. You are a 19-year-old night-shift worker from Harlow Street who just lifted a bus off a child. Now the Bureau of Enhanced Affairs wants to sign you, the cameras want your face, and the city wants to know whose side you are on. You have 60 weeks and four acts to become a legend, or a weapon.

Build your hero
  • Choose your name, codename, costume and aura colour.
  • Pick a power origin: Titan, Streak, Lumen or Bulwark. It changes your stats, your fighting style and your story.
  • Choose what you want most: keep your little sister, uncover what happened to your father, beat the hero who humiliated you on live TV, or make up for the lives you could not save.

Plan every week
  • Morning: train Power, Speed, Control, Durability and Technique, and watch your fatigue and injury risk.
  • Day: take contracts from the Bureau, corporations, nations and people who prefer to stay deniable. Heroic work pays little. Dirty work pays well.
  • Night: live with it. 765 story events: rivals, family, the press and the people who remember what you did.
Training screen: choose a stat to train and a session intensity, with fatigue and injury risk shown.

Choices that come back
225 moral dilemmas, some of them timed. A favour, a lie or a rescue in week 2 can return in week 40. Steer your conscience, your public image, the four factions and how tight the Bureau's leash is. Every chapter sets a main goal, and winning or losing it branches the story.
A moral dilemma: a Bureau official and the masked hero, with three choices tagged by Truth or Loyalty.

Read, counter, hit
Fight rivals in telegraphed comic-book clashes. Read their intent, play the card that counters it, protect civilians and land your finisher on live broadcast. Win the crowd, or throw the match for the money.
A comic-book clash: five action cards, each beating or losing to the rival's telegraphed move.

Face the press
Every Bureau promotion ends in a full press conference: five questions, and every answer moves rivals, nations and factions.

Seven endings
From Harlow Street to Vey Prime, across Meridia's circuit and beyond the atmosphere. Seven endings, decided by what you did and what you wanted.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

All illustrations in MANDATE (character art, backgrounds and event panels) were created with generative AI image models (Qwen-Image-2512 and Qwen-Image-Edit-2511, run locally) from the developer's own prompts. The developer curated, quality-checked and post-processed every image, rejecting results with text artifacts or resemblance to real people or existing franchises. Some store and trailer media are composed from this art. The story text was written with AI writing assistance and edited by the developer. The game does not generate any content while you play.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

MANDATE is a noir superhero story about crime, corruption and moral dilemmas. It contains comic-style, non-graphic fights between costumed characters, civilians who can be harmed if they are not rescued, a few narrative mentions of death and killing, a fantasy drug the player may choose to take, and rare mild references to alcohol.
