Why Early Access?

“Cripta is played and shaped together with its players. It has been in open alpha since October 2026, with new builds every few days, and Early Access lets a much larger group play it, report bugs and tell us what feels good and what doesn't while there is still time to change it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About a year. The game grows in regular updates, and it leaves Early Access once the content and balance feel finished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More of everything that makes a run different: new gifts, curses, relics, bosses and floor events, more heroes, Steam achievements and cloud saves, more languages through the community translation page, and a lot of balancing. The full version will also polish online co-op, including joining friends straight from Steam.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Cripta is fully playable from the first floor to the end: six heroes, six worlds with their guardians and Kings, the deep floors down to the Hollow Seraph, a daily crypt with its leaderboard, relics, challenges and records, and online co-op for up to five players. It is in English and Italian. Expect bugs and balance changes between updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Cripta is free during Early Access. It will become a paid game when version 1.0 is released, and everyone who added it to their library during Early Access keeps it for good.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players report bugs from inside the game (Esc, then "Report a bug"), discuss builds and balance on the Discord server, and can help translate the game on the translation page. Every update comes with a full changelog on the game's wiki.”

About This Game

Descend together

Cripta is a co-op roguelike for one to five heroes. Every run builds a new crypt from its seed: floors full of enemies, secrets, levers and traps, guardians every few floors and a King at the end of each world. Fall, and the crypt starts over. Win, and it goes deeper.

Build a different hero every run

  • Six heroes: Warrior, Archer, Cleric, Rogue, Mage and Summoner, each with a racial skill and class perks of their own.
  • Hundreds of gifts, altar abilities, curses and statue blessings that stack and combine, and gifts that fuse into something new.
  • Level your skills at the anvil up to VI, and carve engravings that change how they work.
  • Relics, traits and loadouts carry your choices from run to run.

Six worlds and what lies below

From the crypt to the ice caves, the Forge, the Gullet, the Heartwood and the Hollow Heaven, each world has its own enemies, hazards and King. Past them wait a fork in the stairs, the Inner Sanctum and the Hollow Seraph.

Play together

  • Online and LAN co-op for up to five players, on Windows, macOS and Linux.
  • Pause, put a run on hold and pick it up another day, and go back to the lobby together between runs.
  • Revive fallen friends at their tomb, trade gold, potions and star shards, and ping what you see.

A new crypt every day

The daily crypt gives everyone the same seed, the same twist and the same pool of offers. Climb the leaderboard and earn souls for the top places.

Early Access

Cripta is free during Early Access and gets regular updates. Join the Discord to report bugs, share builds and shape what comes next.

Cripta is made by a solo developer with the help of AI tools (Claude). AI assisted with programming and with drafting some of the game's text, and every line was reviewed by the developer. A few sound effects were made with generative AI. The pixel art comes from licensed asset packs, and no AI is used while you play.
