About This Game

EVERY BOX MUST BE ACCOUNTED FOR

You are a retail employee working the night shift during inventory week. Behind the store, rows of shipping containers are filled with back stock. Every carton has a receiving label, and every label must be scanned before your shift ends at 6:00 AM.

Management issued you a phone for the job. Its camera is your only view of the yard, its scanner is your only way to record inventory, and its battery will not last forever.

At first, the work is routine.

Then the container doors begin closing on their own.

FIVE NIGHTS OF INVENTORY

Work from Monday through Friday as each shift becomes more dangerous and less believable.

Containers stretch far beyond their physical dimensions. Boxes appear on the ceiling before crashing to the floor. Previously scanned stock returns with recount errors. Streetlights fail, radio transmissions distort, and something wearing a red employee vest begins moving through the fog.

Complete the count, latch every container, and return to the employee entrance before morning.

THE STORE-ISSUED PHONE

The entire shift is experienced through the phone camera.

  • Scan individual receiving labels to complete each container.

  • Use a dim flashlight with limited range.

  • Activate the brighter phone flash at the cost of increased battery drain.

  • Recharge at the dock beside the employee entrance.

  • Follow objectives, recount warnings, and messages from your manager Dale over the radio.

If the phone dies while you are in the yard, you will not be alone in the dark.

DO NOT LOOK AWAY

A tall figure stalks the shipping yard. It moves when you are not watching and stops when it enters your view.

Keep track of where it was last seen. Use the phone flash to drive it back. Listen for footsteps, knocking, radio interference, and the heartbeat that tells you it is getting close.

There are no weapons. Your only defenses are light, awareness, and finishing the job quickly.

RESTACK, RECOUNT, SURVIVE

Scanning is only part of the work.

  • Open, close, and latch shipping container doors.

  • Pick up fallen boxes and return them to valid stack positions.

  • Revisit earlier containers when inventory tags are flagged for recount.

  • Investigate containers whose interiors no longer match their listed dimensions.

  • Manage battery use while moving between darkness and exposed pools of streetlight.

CUSTOM NIGHT

Complete the work week on the hardest difficulty to unlock Custom Night.

Adjust the number of containers, box density, shift length, stalker speed, battery drain, recount frequency, scan time, and paranormal events to create your own inventory shift.
