What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe Early Access is a great opportunity to build REBOOT alongside the community. Our goal is to create a detailed and enjoyable retro game store management experience, and player feedback will play an important role in shaping its development.

During Early Access, we plan to continue improving existing gameplay systems, expanding the available content, and refining the overall experience based on community suggestions and our development goals. We're committed to supporting the game throughout Early Access and working toward a complete release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access is currently planned to last approximately one year, during which we intend to implement features outlined in our development roadmap. This timeline is an estimate and may change based on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game significantly throughout Early Access. Our current goals include introducing additional retro gaming platforms and collectible items, expanding store customization options, developing more advanced repair and refurbishment mechanics, and adding new ways to grow and manage your business.

We also intend to improve customer interactions, expand progression systems, and introduce additional gameplay mechanics based on player feedback.

These are our current development goals and may evolve throughout Early Access as we continue refining the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version focuses on the core experience of owning and operating a retro video game store.

Players can acquire inventory through wholesale purchases and customer trade-ins, inspect items with varying conditions and values, manage inventory and pricing, stock shelves, and sell games to customers.

The game includes a progression system, allowing players to develop their business and expand their inventory as they play.

Some planned features, including more extensive customization, additional collectible categories, and expanded repair mechanics, are still in development. We plan to continue improving and expanding the experience throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to increase the price when the game leaves Early Access to reflect the additional content, features, and improvements introduced throughout development. Pricing plans may be adjusted as development progresses.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is the most important and crucial part of early access for our game. We plan for every facet of the game to be further shaped and polished around the priorities our community reveal to be most important.”

About This Game

Remember walking into a video game store, browsing the shelves, and searching for that one game you just had to own? Now imagine owning the store.

In REBOOT: Retro Game Store Simulator, you'll build and manage your own retro gaming business. Buy, sell, trade, collect, and repair games and consoles while turning an empty storefront into a thriving game shop.

BUILD YOUR DREAM GAME STORE

Start with an empty storefront and a limited budget. Purchase fixtures, stock your shelves, and open your doors to customers.

As your business grows, expand your inventory, unlock new equipment, and customize your store to make it your own.

EVERY BOX IS A SURPRISE

Stock your store by ordering wholesale boxes filled with assorted video games. Each shipment contains a different selection, with varying titles, conditions, and values.

Some boxes will be profitable. Others might leave you wondering why you ordered them.

BUY, SELL & TRADE

Customers aren't just there to shop. They'll also bring in games, consoles, and entire collections they want to sell.

Inspect their items, evaluate their condition, and negotiate a price. Make smart purchases, manage your margins, and decide which deals are worth taking.

THE THRILL OF THE HUNT

Not every game is worth the same amount.

Discover procedurally generated collections featuring titles from multiple generations of gaming history. Each game has its own rarity, condition, and value.

Hunt for rare collectibles, build your personal collection, or put your discoveries up for sale.

GIVE OLD CONSOLES NEW LIFE

Buy broken consoles and bring them back to life.

Disassemble hardware, diagnose problems, replace faulty components, and restore systems to working condition.

Sell your repaired consoles for a profit or keep them for your collection.

YOUR STORE, YOUR RULES

Arrange shelves, organize merchandise, customize displays, and design your store however you like.

Focus on high-volume sales, specialize in rare collectibles, or build a little bit of everything.

It's your store. Run it your way.
