What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Cosmic Inferno has grown from a small space arcade game into a much larger project.

Through Early Access, I want to continue developing the game together with the community. Balancing spaceships, weapons, enemies, and economic systems especially benefits from player experiences and feedback.

My goal is to create a varied space sandbox where exploration, combat, mining, and personal progression are equally enjoyable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Early Access to last approximately 6 to 12 months. The actual duration will depend on development progress and community feedback.

I believe it's more important to carefully improve the various gameplay systems and make sure they work well together than to rush toward a fixed release date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, I want to bring more life to the world of Cosmic Inferno and expand its existing gameplay mechanics.

My plans include further developing factions, adding more content to the star systems, improving trading and economic systems, and expanding and refining spaceship and weapon mechanics.

I also intend to continuously improve game balance, the user interface, multiplayer features, and the way the different gameplay systems work together.

The final scope of these improvements will depend on development progress and community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Cosmic Inferno features a galaxy with 100 star systems that players can explore in their own spaceship.

Already implemented features include space combat, different spaceships, a ship purchasing system, individual weapon progression and design, and physics-based mechanics for asteroids and their transportation.

Players can mine asteroids, collect resources, and progress by acquiring new equipment and more powerful spaceships.

Additional content and systems are currently in development. Trading, factions, and multiplayer features in particular are intended to further expand the experience.

Early Access will provide an opportunity to expand these systems, refine how they work together, and continue improving the overall gameplay experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I haven't ruled out a possible price adjustment at the end of Early Access, but no changes are currently planned.

If the game's scope and content expand significantly, I will review the pricing accordingly and communicate any potential changes in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will play an important role in the continued development of Cosmic Inferno.

I plan to collect feedback, suggestions, and bug reports through the Steam Community and my Discord server.

I especially want to consider community experiences when balancing gameplay, refining flight physics, improving spaceship and weapon systems, and developing economic mechanics.

I won't be able to implement every suggestion, but I aim to keep the development process as open and transparent as possible.”

About This Game

Cosmic Inferno

Your Ship. Your Course. Your Consequences.

Fight, trade, hunt bounties, and salvage wrecks in a galaxy currently featuring 100 star systems. Upgrade your ship, venture into unknown sectors, and listen to your onboard computer. Occasionally, at least.

About This Game

In Cosmic Inferno, your story begins with the destruction of a cruiser. What happens next is entirely up to you.

Explore a galaxy currently featuring 100 uniquely named star systems connected by fixed jump routes. Visit space stations, face off against pirates, or earn your next Scrips through bounty hunting, mining, and salvaging whatever other pilots have left behind.

By your side: A.R.E.S., your onboard computer. Competent, straightforward, and remarkably intolerant of your more questionable decisions.

Your Ship, Your Style

Buy new ships, combine weapons and systems, and customize your equipment to suit your flying style.

Projectile weapons, lasers, missiles, plasma launchers, and Tesla cannons offer different approaches to combat. Paint jobs, metallic finishes, and customizable weapon fire colors give your ship a truly personal touch. Thousands of combinations await you. And naturally, quite a few of them will be commented on. ;)

Nothing Stays Still in Space

Pirates, patrols, freighters, and neutral ships share the same travel routes.

Scan suspicious contacts, demand cargo, or take on bounties – with optional time bonuses.

Keep an eye on your shields, armor, hull, and ammunition. Flares and good timing can save you from incoming homing missiles. Switch off your inertia dampeners and pull off some truly reckless maneuvers.

What Others Lose Could Be Yours

Mine asteroids and dismantle shipwrecks using specialized equipment. Or simply tow them back to a station and let someone else do the heavy lifting.

Your cargo isn't just a number in your inventory: its mass affects how your ship handles. And a released asteroid keeps its momentum, opening up some rather interesting possibilities.

Beyond the Next Jump Gate

Plan your journey, manage your own map markers, and keep an eye on your fuel reserves.

Those looking for greater risks can embark on an experimental expedition into an "Unknown Sector." Changing objectives, dangerous encounters, and a limited window to return await you there. Along with a reward worth the trouble, of course.
