About This Demo

This is the free demo of Dark and Me. It holds the first quarter of the game: the chapters Awakening and The Web in full and the first seven rooms of The Mire — 54 rooms, about an hour of play.

A small creature with glowing eyes wakes up alone at the edge of a black-and-white forest. There are no words here and no one to explain the rules — only the path ahead, the things that live in the dark, and the faint light of sparks hidden along the way.

A quiet, deadly world

Every room is a puzzle you solve with your hands: push crates, pull levers, swing on ropes, ride a raft across tar, hold your breath under water. Get it wrong and the forest takes you — then you are back at the start of the room to try again.

Seven and a half more chapters of darkness: hunters with spears, a shadow with too many eyes, a twin in a mirror world, a factory of belts and saws, a world turned upside down and a pale worm that walks you like a puppet. 216 rooms and 80 sparks in all. Generative AI tools were used in making this game. The background sounds and ambiences (forest, wind, swamp, factory) were created with ElevenLabs, and the trailer music with ElevenLabs Music. The game icon was generated by an AI image model and chosen by the developer. The level art comes from a licensed asset pack drawn by artists; some small graphics were drawn by code. Nothing is generated by AI while you play, and the game does not connect to any AI service.
