Start ninth grade with eight AI-driven classmates who answer anything you say and remember it. Spend your afternoons at paintball or the lake, then fall asleep and play the dreams your day leaves behind: a murder mystery, a homework nightmare, a flight to Mars.

About This Game

Your classmates remember what you say. Your dreams remember too.

You start ninth grade at Brookfield Academy, a small private high school in a small Oregon town. Day one is everybody's first day: nobody in your year has history you missed, and the class has not decided who it is yet.

Talk to anyone, about anything

There are no dialogue wheels. Type or speak to your classmates in your own words, and they answer in theirs. Each of the eight students in your year has a personality, a home, a private worry, and a life that carries on when you walk away. They form opinions, remember conversations, and build relationships with you and with each other.

Every school day plays out differently

A day is one slice of school life: Morning Arrival, Lunch, or a Free Period, and which one it is changes who is where and what they are talking about. Your first month is a 30-day calendar with stories running through it that do not wait for you.

After school, you actually go somewhere

Agree to go somewhere with someone and the afternoon plays out as its own place with its own game.

Paintball: teams picked in the lobby, cover to break, and a match that remembers who stuck together.

Fishing: an afternoon at the lake with whoever came along, every rod in the water and every catch counted.

Then you go to sleep

What happened during the day does not stay at school. Which dream you get is weighted by the day you actually had: what it was about, and how it felt.

Murder Mystery: question your classmates, find the contradictions, and accuse the killer. You can be wrong.

Homework Nightmare: a lazy day at the beach, until you remember the assignment due tomorrow, and something in the empty school starts opening doors.

Journey to Mars: fly beyond Earth and fight what is waiting there.

Naked Escape: you came to school without pants. Reach the exit without being seen.

School Dream is in development for PC and Mac. Conversations are generated live and need an internet connection.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

School Dream uses generative AI in two ways.

Live-generated during play: your classmates' replies are written by an AI language model while you play, so they can respond to whatever you type or say. The game also uses AI to write the summaries of your dreams and of what classmates did off-screen, and to generate the background scenery for some after-school destinations. Because of this, what a character says can vary between playthroughs and is not pre-written by the developer. What you type is sent to our server to generate replies, and an internet connection is required.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Includes a dream where the player investigates a classmate's murder (no gore or on-screen violence), a comedic dream where the player character has lost their trousers and must avoid being seen (shown in underwear from behind, nothing sexual), and live AI-generated conversations in which players can type freely.
