A cursor-driven incremental game about one escaped cell. You steer, it eats: microbes, a research lab, a technician's flat, then a whole city. Mutate between short rounds, break every barrier and grow from a speck under the microscope to the size of a city. Then do it again as five other microbes.

About This Game

It's just one cell.

Specimen #404 was meant to stay in its petri dish. Move your cursor and it follows: tendrils lash out, grab anything edible and drag it in. You lead, it eats, and every bite makes it bigger. You never click to attack, not until the very last bite.

Break out. Then break out again.

Every round is short. When time runs out, the UV lamps sweep the dish and burn it back. Spend what it ate on mutations, come back stronger and chew through the barrier: the glass, the lab's blast door, the front door of a flat. Every breach pulls the camera back, and the dish you just escaped becomes a dot on a lab bench.

Mutate

  • A mutation network of 49 nodes across four branches (predation, sporulation, corrosion, and resistance & hacking), plus a nine-node Colossus ring that wakes in the city.
  • 11 keystones that change how it hunts: Chain Parasite, Devourer Worms, Corpse Acid Pools, EMP Spores, Hive Mind, Reverse Neural Takeover, The Maw and more.
  • 25 organs, grown from the gene samples of what you eat.
  • Four evolution lineages: Predator, Parasite, Colony and Colossus.
  • An index of 69 things to eat. Research a species to see its hidden stats and weak points.

From the microscope to the skyline

A blood-agar plate of real microbes: E. coli that divide, phages that burst, white blood cells after the same meal. Lab 404, with its turrets, lasers and armed guards. Technician Miles's flat at night, seen through his home camera. And then the city, district by district: crowds run, police and soldiers open fire, helicopters hunt it with searchlights, and it is big enough now that every step shakes the street.

Watch the numbers climb

Damage counters, combos, a card for everything it swallows and a breach bar that never stops filling. When 65% of the city is gone, night falls.

The last meal

At the heart of the city stands the Central Tower and its sterilisation beam. Cut its power, outlast the beam, bring its crown down, then chew through what is left, one bite at a time. Two endings wait after that.

Experiment Mode

Finish the story and the lab opens its other files: five more specimens, each with its own rules and its own mutation network.
  • Deinococcus grows on radiation: hazards are food.
  • Phage Swarm infects its prey and waits for them to burst.
  • Cyanobacteria grows on light, and people switch it off.
  • Magnetospirillum is a chain that rams and pulls in metal.
  • Physarum lays feeding points and grows a network.
Five protocols, from Standard Culture to Protocol 404, stack the rules against it, and every experiment number generates a new dish and a new city, under conditions like a warm incubator, rain or martial law.

Features

  • You steer, it eats: a cursor-driven incremental, no click-spamming
  • Short rounds, then mutate: "one more round" from the first minute
  • Four places and a finale, each with its own prey, hazards and barrier, and a zoom-out between every one
  • A clinical line-art look: the lab, the flat and the city drawn in 3D, until night falls on the city
  • About two hours to eat the whole city, two endings, then Experiment Mode
  • English and Traditional Chinese
