About This Game

From the bottom division to a world title

You take over a small table tennis club at the bottom of your country's league. Fifteen seasons later, a junior you kept on intake day is world champion, and you still remember the Futures event in Lisbon where she won her first match.

Your club has two lives: a team in a four-division national league that pays the bills, and a stable of players on the World Tour, where careers are made. Run the men's team, the women's team, or both: two teams, one budget.

A match you can read

Every point is played stroke by stroke. Attackers, counter-hitters, defenders and all-rounders; shakehand and penhold; inverted rubber, short pips, long pips and anti: they all play differently. Your game plan is a bet on what the other bench will do. They adapt, and the match gives you evidence, not answers. Change the plan between games, call a timeout, send out the right doubles pair.

Watch every rally in 3D, or only the points that matter: a league night in a school sports hall, a Gold event in a packed exhibition hall, a Major final in a dark arena under the lights.

Careers you raise

Every player has hidden potential that your scouts narrow down over time. Juniors grow fastest in their teens, earn signature shots and write their own stories: first wins, upsets, rivalries, titles. Keep the right fifteen-year-old on intake day and you may be watching a world champion a decade later.

People, not numbers

Players knock on your door after losing a deciding game or sitting a month on the bench. They remember how you spoke to them and whether you kept your word, and they make friends and enemies in the dressing room. Rival coaches have a go at you in the papers, and what you tell the reporter reaches the table, the stands and the boardroom.

A club that pays its way

Tour travel costs money; the league, the cup and your sponsors pay the bills, and the board judges you on its brief. Build your facilities, hire your staff, and decide what to do when a bigger club bids for your best player. Every season the national cup gives your small hall its night against a giant, and four clubs meet for one Final Four weekend.

Design your crest and your kits and see them on court: your badge on every chest, every name on every back.

Your own career

Make a name and your country may call: pick its four for the World Team Championships and coach them from the bench. Bigger clubs come asking, boards lose patience, and a sacking is only the start of the next job. The players you leave behind remember it.

Lift trophies in front of the crowd, take your seat at the awards night, and choose how you look on the bench and at the ceremonies. One day you may stand in the Hall of Fame, in bronze.
