Burn bootleg games in a waterfront shed and sell them off a folding table while a patrol cop works the block. Every disc you get your hands on unlocks a new branch of the piracy tree. Save enough and the failing internet cafe across town goes up for sale.

Coming Soon To Early Access

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core loop is built and playable end to end: you can burn and sell bootlegs, buy the cafe and the game store, run the basement benches and survive a police raid. What we want now is players in it. The risk curve (how fast a patrol spots you, what a disc is worth, when the cafe becomes affordable) is something we can only tune by watching people play it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're planning 8-12 months. That's driven by the content roadmap below, not a fixed date. If players tell us something needs longer, it gets longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More customer archetypes and random events, deeper progression, more bootleg recipes, additional cafe locations, and a full pass on multiplayer stability. We also plan to add localization, starting with Turkish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable solo and in co-op. The full night loop works: burn, sell, buy the building, produce, fill the recipe book. Expect rough edges in balance and occasional multiplayer hiccups. Those are exactly what we're looking for reports on.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may rise as content is added. Early supporters buy in at the lowest price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam community hub and forums. This game exists because of what happens when friends play together, so player stories and clips directly shape what we build next.”

About This Game

THE NIGHT SHIFT IS YOURS

You start with a leaking shed by the water, one torrent PC and a stack of blank discs. Burn a copy, carry it to the street, and sell it off a folding table. The city is asleep, the buyers are awake, and there is a cop walking the block.

EVERY DISC IS A RECIPE

The torrent box only seeds the classics: three genres to start, more as your name gets around. Everything else you make yourself. Bolt a mod onto a game in the modding lab, press two games together and see what comes out. Every new fake goes into your recipe book, and filling that book is the real end of the game.

BURN IT CLEAN

Burning a disc is not a progress bar. Tune the burner into its strongest band, then seal the cracks as they split across the disc. Clean burns build overburn, and every full overburn is a free extra copy. Every new fake you mix is revealed like a pack opening: rarity, tags, street value.

A PIRACY TREE THAT FOLLOWS REAL HISTORY

Over 160 parody games across five genre trees, and the craft chains trace how games actually evolved. A shooter about a castle becomes a demon shooter, becomes an arena shooter, becomes a half-finished physics experiment, becomes the bomb-defusal mod that ate the world. Splice two together and you get the thing a studio built years later. Every step is a disc you can burn and sell.

THE STREET IS THE RISK

Set up your table, put real stock on it, and let buyers come. They ask for a genre, sometimes a combination, and they make an offer based on what the disc is actually worth. Take it, counter, or send them away. Push a cheapskate too hard and they walk.

Get caught selling and you are WANTED. Sooner or later an officer walks up and stops you: comply and lose every fake in your bag, or slip them a bribe and keep it all. Walk off or take a swing and it becomes a chase. Break line of sight, wait out the search, or pay off your record at the precinct.

BUY THE BUILDING

The cafe is behind a shutter with a price on it. So is the game store across town. Nothing opens on a timer: you walk up, you pay, the shutter goes up. Then it is bare tables. Buy parts, drag them into slots, and watch a machine come together. Better rigs pull better customers.

THE BASEMENT

Modding, fusion and duplication benches under the floor. Crack games, splice them into something that never shipped, and stamp copies. Every bootleg you sell raises heat, and heat brings a raid through your front door.

EVERY UPGRADE IS A NEW FAILURE SURFACE

Progression does not calm the chaos, it scales it. More PCs means a bigger power bill. More customers means more trash, more smell, and more people who notice the second the internet drops.

  • Shared economy: one register funds everything
  • 160+ parody games across five genre trees built on real gaming history
  • A recipe book to fill: every fake is a combination you have to discover
  • Street heat with real states: wanted, stopped, chased, searched, busted
  • Comply, bribe or run: every police stop is a choice
  • Buyers who haggle over what a disc is actually worth
  • A burn minigame where clean work pays out in free copies
  • Pack-opening reveals for new fakes, dumpster dives for mods and recipes
  • Property you buy and walk into, not menus you unlock
  • Deep station building: parts, tiers, repairs
  • A living night city: traffic, pedestrians, shops that actually open

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of the in-game text and the store page copy were drafted with AI writing tools. The game does not use AI to generate any content while you play.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Bootleggers is a crime comedy about running a bootleg video game business. Players can knock out and kill NPCs with fists, bats and a pistol, police raids include gunfire, and bodies can be hidden. There is no blood or gore; violence is shown with stylized ragdoll physics. The game jokes about crime and death, and its core loop rewards piracy and other illegal activity.
