What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Your support during Early Access helps us to continue development of Damage. Early access gives you a glimpse of Damage's over-the-top black humor with detailed, miniatyric city and its pixel animated characters. This game isn't for everyone, but the positive feedback we got from Amiga-players makes us think there is still need for this kind of content in games. Hopefully you too will get some laughs and enjoyment as we did during developing this game. We want to hear your feedback - did you like it and what would you like to see more? A chainsaw perhaps?”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6-10 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will contain larger city which is based on Amiga-version, more, bigger and wiser opponents, new weapon types and even darker, humorous Story parts and new Arcade-levels.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current version there is handful of weapons, opponents and drugs to have fun with. Small part of the city is free for exploration - but the size is still quite limited compared to the huge, original Amiga-version. The action-adventure Story part should however give a good glimpse what kind of action-adventure game Damage is and what kind of story and humor it holds inside. There is also quick Arcade-levels, for players to quickly "get into action" and compete on leaderboards.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would love to hear constructive feedback from community especially from adult players who can take and enjoy this kind of humor. We know this game isn't for everyone and it never wasn't supposed to be, but if you like twisted humor as seen for example in early works of Peter Jackson you really should give this game a try! If the name of the game (Damage: Sadistic Butchering of Humanity) already makes you feel sick or angry, this game probably isn't for you, sorry.”

About This Game

THE GAME

Damage is a violent but humorous 2D-adventure-shooter based on Amiga cult classic which was originally released in 1996.

The idea of Damage is simple: kill as many people as possible!

Damage is an adventure game where you can roam freely in a wide urban setting, loot money and goods, buy weapons and other equipment from the black market and kill thousands of enemies: harmless civilians, policemen, army troopers, organised criminals, bloodhounds and vehicles.

DSBoH is humoristic and harmless outlet for our violent instincts.

THE STORY

In Damage you take control of a formerly exemplary man named Michael Modelcitizen, who had everything a man could possibly dream of. Because of that, he soon became deeply frustrated. Michael tried various methods in search of a new super human state, but during the process something went terribly wrong. The solution to regaining his previous status is ugly.

Michael starts with a primitive baseball bat, taking out unaware passers-by. It's not long before Michael's actions begins to attract the members of authority - who all try to eliminate him. Of course, he has access to numerous appetising weapons, and he starts experimenting with dangerous drugs to keep himself alive.

In Damage, you play as Michael and we guarantee you many, many delightful discoveries and a feeling of extreme freedom to venture and express yourself.

LEGACY

About Amiga version (1993-1997)

The enormous project of making an ideal game of our own started back in 1993. We soon became overly ambitious, and we had no idea of what it took to carry out our plans. But we couldn't give in, just took new challenges to make Damage the best it could be. In 1996 the game was ready and players loved it!
